I am interested in doing welcome baskets for my guests but want something small and simple. Do you ladies have any suggestions for what I could put into a NYC themed basket besides bottled water, a big apple and a city guide?

If you know they will be sightseeing (if they're OOTers) then maybe include 2 metrocards, the fun pass kind that they can use as many times as they want for one day. I think they're around 7 bucks each now....![]()
that is an awesome idea! you could also include a subway map (which you can get for free from the toll guy. Maybe you can also print up a list of ideas on where to go. Century 21 actually has a bunch of cheap, touristy nyc related items. maybe one of those I (heart) NY things, either a postcard (barnes and noble in the city sells). if i think of anything else, i'll post again. Ohhh! Tribeca Rooftop! That is going to be so amazing.
