what else are you putting in this letter besides direction to the reception hall?
i've only seen one post in the past that discussed this- she invited them to a pre-wedding dinner and post wedding brunch.
what else should go in here? local restaurants???

I have seen the welcoming letters with just about everything from stories of how the bride and groom met to just area attractions for the guests that are staying longer after the wedding and guests that arrive days before the wedding. Maybe a thank you note for traveling to be with you on your special day?

My letter just thanks everyone for traveling to LI, then gives directions from the hotel to the church, and invites them to a brunch at my Mom's house the day after. I printed them on the computer on 'fall' paper.
I had to label my bags on the front with the name the room was reserved under. So, instead of doing labels, I wrote personalized notes on monogrammed stationary that will be no good in 9 days when I change my name! Then I taped that on the front.
