Well I guess we're having our ceremony at the RH...

Well I guess we're having our ceremony at the RH...

All because FH's stupid ugly church waits so long to book weddings, we got screwed on our day and I've been scrambling to find other churches.

Infant Jesus--not in Parish my mom lives literally less than 1 mile from there.

St. Marks--Booked.

St. John the Baptist--Booked.

Mt. Sinai Congregational--Booked.

Wading River Congregational--No center aisle, awakward layout.

St. Louis de Montfort--Booked.

St. Andrews--Booked.

I really think we will have to do the ceremony at the RH and take pics beforehand, NOT my ideal situation, but we'll make the best of it. Now I gotta call my BM and make sure we can do it!

WOW! I can't believe they all booked up so fast! How far out from the date did they say you can book? I hope it works out with the RH!

Are you both Catholic? I know this is strange but my Lutheran church in Rocky Point was going to marry my cousin and her FI (they are both Cathoic) bc she was divorced before and wasnt sure she could get an annulment. It is a weird layout but there is a center aisle and the pastors are really really sweet there.

it is called Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church

I know I didnt want to get married at my RH for the same reason bc of pic taking and we arent religious so a church ceremony was out of the question for us so we opted to do it outdoors. Did you ever consider a park? Or maybe rent a small hall near your location for a couple hours.

I'm not sure where you're located, but if you are saying Wading River, did you try St Peter & Paul in Manorville? Also, my church, St John the Evangelist might be available - I know they book 3 weddings on Saturdays!

ETA: St John the Evangelist is in Center Moriches

St. Peter and Paul, as nice as Father Bruce was, was not for us. It was incredibly tiny and not our style.

Dont give up! you want to get married in a church you should be able to. so what if the church isnt in the surrounding towns that you want it to be.

I wouldnt restrict yourself to churches that are within your parish. Some chuches are very loose with their rules. St. Patricks probably isnt one of them, but I would call around and explain the situation.

Smithtown Landing.

Its so frustrating because some churches are sooo strict and others are not.

Should I bite the bullet and start calling randomly?

Yes without a doubt. Way back in the day my parents did that.

I would absolutely start calling randomly - there are definitely churches that don't require you to be in the parish to get married there.

Not sure if they require you to be in the parish, but St. Anthony's in East Northport (where I'm getting marrried) does 3 weddings a day and I'd be surprised if they didn't have your date available at all. And it's close enough to your hall.

They book 9-12 months in advance. They had our date on hold but they only do 2 weddings a day, one at 11 am and one at 2:30pm and a 5:00 mass. They didn't have us flagged for the 2:30 LIKE I TOLD THEM TO and they gave it to someone else.
