Well I guess we're having our ceremony at the RH...
Original post by mrsdraskin2009
All because FH's stupid ugly church waits so long to book weddings, we got screwed on our day and I've been scrambling to find other churches.
Infant Jesus--not in Parish my mom lives literally less than 1 mile from there.
St. Marks--Booked.
St. John the Baptist--Booked.
Mt. Sinai Congregational--Booked.
Wading River Congregational--No center aisle, awakward layout.
St. Louis de Montfort--Booked.
St. Andrews--Booked.
I really think we will have to do the ceremony at the RH and take pics beforehand, NOT my ideal situation, but we'll make the best of it. Now I gotta call my BM and make sure we can do it!

Also where is your RH?
Smithtown Landing.
Its so frustrating because some churches are sooo strict and others are not.
Should I bite the bullet and start calling randomly?
YES!! Thats what I did. I swear I did a google search of Catholic churches on LI and called nearly everyone in Nassau to find a church when my original one fell through. I ended up at St.Patricks in Glen Cove GORGEOUS CHURCH! No need to be a parishinor and one person had to be catholic thats all. I would highly reccomend them although it is far from Smithtown.
Also St.Patricks in Bayshore you dont have to be a member to get married there. Stunning church as well.

It might be a bit far away, but what about St. Philip Neri in Northport? We are getting married there and I am not a member of the parish, and neither is my FH, but it's in my hometown and is really beautiful.

Date twin...I am so sorry to hear you are having a difficult time finding a church..but if you have your heart set on getting married at a church...by all means start calling randomly. It is def true that some churches are less strict about parishoners only getting married at their church. Did you happen to ask your first choice church if they knew of any parishes that accept non parishoners?
I guess I dont seem like such a crazy nut now that I booked my church about 1 1/2 years in advance, everyone was laughing at me.
Anyway...good luck!
