Well ladies, it has started.

We got our first 'so when are you planning to start having children?'

Can we please get married first? Sheesh!

I get that all the time! My mom has even started buying cute stuff she sees! Too bad that stuff is going to be collecting dust for a while!

Uh, at my shower someone had the GALL to give me one baby shoe with some poem about how they're wishing babies on us and how they'll reveal themselves at the baby shower. I think that shows some freaking nerve, I was SO mad when I opened it!!! People are ridiculous.

I must admit I am kind of jealous... no one in either of our families asks that question. And no one asks me at work either because they know I am leaving after the baby is born.

Oh god.. when we went to visit FH's family in TN we got the guilt... 'well I guess I won't have any grandchildren soon, since you two want to wait a few years..sniff sniff...' FMIL brought it up all weekend...

Re: Well ladies, it has started.

People are so nosey to ask.

I never ask anyone and here's why...

One of my cousins tried for 5 years to have a baby. In the meantime her SIL had four!!

One of my co-workers went through grueling fertility treatments to have her kids. She confided her situation with me but there were times when she had to remove herself from the faculty room because yet another woman would announce that she was pregnant and how she couldn't believe that they got preggos on the first try....etc.

Can't people be a bit more senstitive to a couples choice to have kids or not, the amount and when?
In light of the above stories I always try to think what other's might be going through when these topics come up.

That is the second most thing my mother talks about besides the wedding.

Re: Well ladies, it has started.

My FH's father told me at Christmas that I have to carry on the last name since my FH was his only boy (we had only been engaged a little over a month) That was a little too much pressure for me!! (ps I want girls-I've been surrounded my men my whole life!!!!!!!!)
