i can imagine your frustration!!! my rsvp date is in 2 weeks and i still have 70 outstanding. what do you wanna bet i'm going to be missing quite a few? i just don't get it... i don't know how long you gave people to rsvp but most have 6-8 weeks or so... is that not enough time for people to check their calandar and make a decision?! someone i work with just yesterday was like, 'can i just hand you the rsvp card?' i said yes, no problem. at least i'd be getting it back, right? but it's just like - the freakin' thing is prestamped and preaddressed - could it get any easier?! then this same person today, tells me he filled out the rsvp card. i was like 'did you mail it?' he says no, he'll do that tomorrow. then i ask him if he's bringing his gf. he says he's not sure. i was like 'well did you rsvp for one or 2?' 2, he tells me. well then 2 had better show up, that's all i have to say!! what is wrong with people? sorry for venting on your post - and btw, i guess i would wait until midweek to start calling people, because of the holiday weekend. it just makes me that you, or any bride has to make these calls. like we don't have enough to take care of without chasing around after adults.

I'd wait until the weekend/fri night and start e-mailing first. I did that as my RSVP date was a wed. and I e-mailed fri night and by Sunday, I received 1/2 responses (all no) by e-mail and they sent in their rsvp shortly thereafter.

I feel your pain. My RSVP date was this past Friday 8/25. I got a total of seven RSVPs all of last week (of the 38 that were missing). On Sunday I sent out emails to everyone on my side that hadn't sent the darn thing back. Between yesterday and today I got 7 back in the mail. All 4 that I received today were from people that I contacted.
IMHO, I wouldn't wait to contact them if you have an email address, and then if you don't get them back by the end of next week, start making phone calls.

I waited until one week past the deadline. then I started calling. I have about 20 missing by the deadline date too. most of the people who rsvp'd late were no's anyway
