Well September Started Off W/ a BANG...

The bang of a drunk driver crashing through my sister's house last night at 5am, that is.

Last night my brother (he lives there too- pays her rent which helps out w/ the bills) heard a bang so loud he said it was like a TRAIN was coming through the house... The driver crashed his car through my sister's garage-- just missing the kitchen by inches. Now, there is a big, gaping HOLE in the side of her house which goes into her garage and a ton of things she had in the garage are destroyed- THANK GOD- there was no CAR in the garage.

Anywho, my brother came running down and the guy tried to BACK OUT and leave and then, in typical drunk driver fashion, got out and stumbled around saying 'I'm just going to walk home now' and my brother, who is a COP lol, said 'No, stay right there' and called the Police who came and gave him the 'walk the line' test- he FELL and then they gave him a breathelizer and he blew a .15 The current legal limit is .08 which was, a few years ago, reduced from .10

Wow, right? With tomorrow marking one week until the wedding- my poor, poor sister She has so much going on right now between my wedding and starting school (she's a teacher)-- The hits just keep on coming! She has a great attitude about it though- she is just happy it wasn't the kitchen and that no one was hurt, of course- first and foremost.

Thanks for letting me get it all out-- I'm beyond pizzed that it was a drunk driver and most of you know why.

Seriously! And my little nephew was upstairs asleep also- he is only five.

My sister is just so happy that everything was OK and that it is damage that can simply be fixed through insurance-- Hopefully, this will teach the person who did this a lesson and as a result, will save lives down the line... I'm going to try and think positive with that mind frame.

OMG that's horrible -- but thank goodness no one was hurt and your sister and brother are both safe and sound! Like you said good thing he heard cause otherwise that guy would have walked. He deserves to be in JAIL!!

Well, he is for now but he will probably be let out on bail and then just get community service- LIKE ALWAYS. But I'm just hoping this served enough of a lesson that he won't do it again-- so often drunk drivers are let off easy and then do it again and again until they eventually kill someone... I just hope THIS was what he needs as a wake up call and that THIS happening prevented someone else getting killed later on.

omg wow! i've had someone drive up onto the lawn and just barely hit the house at my parents house in lindenhurst but my god! totally bashing in the garage thats insane..
