The bang of a drunk driver crashing through my sister's house last night at 5am, that is.
Last night my brother (he lives there too- pays her rent which helps out w/ the bills) heard a bang so loud he said it was like a TRAIN was coming through the house... The driver crashed his car through my sister's garage-- just missing the kitchen by inches. Now, there is a big, gaping HOLE in the side of her house which goes into her garage and a ton of things she had in the garage are destroyed- THANK GOD- there was no CAR in the garage.
Anywho, my brother came running down and the guy tried to BACK OUT and leave and then, in typical drunk driver fashion, got out and stumbled around saying 'I'm just going to walk home now' and my brother, who is a COP lol, said 'No, stay right there' and called the Police who came and gave him the 'walk the line' test- he FELL and then they gave him a breathelizer and he blew a .15 The current legal limit is .08 which was, a few years ago, reduced from .10
Wow, right? With tomorrow marking one week until the wedding- my poor, poor sister She has so much going on right now between my wedding and starting school (she's a teacher)-- The hits just keep on coming! She has a great attitude about it though- she is just happy it wasn't the kitchen and that no one was hurt, of course- first and foremost.
Thanks for letting me get it all out-- I'm beyond pizzed that it was a drunk driver and most of you know why.

What was really amazing is this: There's an access road into their community for landscapers and such-- so there's a big fence/gate thing and then the road-- he PLOWED through the fence/gate, sped down the access road and BAM into her house! Imagine how fast he was going to plow through the gate AND then her house!

holy crap!!! Mine started off very similar...i was driving back from a funeral today and a motorcyle crashed with a car right in front of me!!! (he ended up being ok) Glad your family wasn't hurt...but how do you crash into a house?????? jeeezz...freakin drunks!!

OMG! I am so sorry that your sis and brother have to deal with this! And I imagine that it doesn't help right before your wedding! But thank God, no one was hurt...this guy needs to do some serious time-almost 2X the legal limit (however, if it is a first offense and considering he was detained at the scene, he might not get a lot of time )
Your brother and sister should speak to the police and find out who to contact in the DA's office-this way they can find out what charges will be brought, and they can also work with the DA to see if any charges could be added (this way, when drunken f#ck tries to plea it down, which will happen, he will likely be stuck with a higher charge). In addition, your family is absolutely entitled to civil action against this loser...best of luck to your family!!!

I am sorry to hear this Danielle.... you have had more than your fair share of being affected by jerks that feel they can get beyond the wheel when drunk. thank god... this time, no one was hurt or worse...
