hmm it may be enough to put a deposit down for both. but if it's not, i'd get the photographer first. then again thats me. i have to do the order of most important, otherwise im not happy with myself... lol

do you have your heart set on a particular vendor?

lol.. see their both of equal importance thats why i can not choose which to do first.. although i do know exactly what DJ i want so that would be the simplier decision. picking a photog could tak me a while since i know EXACTLY what i want.

I agree. If you have your heart set on one or the other, I'd do that first.

If it were me, I'd do the photog.

Then do the DJ first. Either way, I don't think it really matters....
Which DJ??

Re: well....i need some help...

get in tune.. their a house vendor at Majestic Gardens. so i think well book that since we know what vendor we want to use it would be easier.. and if we use the full amount we have left we could pay for half of it and only have 750 left. not such a bad idea!

If you do, than book that vendor. I think you may have enough to book both, I would meet w/ each then decide when you can book which. IMHO I think Photographer is more important, since that is all you'll have once the day has come & gone (besides memories of course ) my FH thinks DJ is more valuable since after food that's what is most important to him... It varies not only to it varies to ...

* if you meet w/ a photographer & dj you love & want to book both & you don't have enough funds, give each of them 1/2 of what you have & explain that is all you can afford to give at that moment, but will give the remained on X date...

BTW: $1000 was the deposit for my RH & then on 2-1-07 they get $2000, then FILs pay the balance 48 hours before the wedding

Hmmm I will go with DJ because alot of people are getting a head start on that, I even have an appointment tomorrow because I see people are booking the DJ's I want and they're getting married after me.

Also, alot of photographers don't book more than a year in advance anyways.

i wish!!!... our RH.. we have to pay them 2000 every 2 months for 6 months (thats 6000) and a 500 deposit at the begining so well have 6500. then we dont have to pay again till 6 months before the wedding thats when we give them half of the guarentee. Then final payment 10days before wedding.

honestly you should have enough to put deposits down on both...doesn't hurt to start looking at both and ask about deposits and payment plans and see what happens

We are poor too!!!! After making payments on the hall we have absolutely nothing to our name!! I think if you book inexpensive vendors you may be able to put a deposit on both. We booked FM entertainment for DJ and they required a $250 deposit. As for photo/video we booked Velvet studios. They required a $500 deposit with our package. So that fits in your budget as well. Call around and price places first and ask what they require as a deposit. That is what we did. It made it easier for us knowing we didnt have a lot to put down.
