Went dress shopping for the first time today!

Hi all! This is my first time posting...anyways I went dress shopping for the first time today. I have to admit at first it was a little overwhelming, but after a while I started to realize the style of dress I like. I found a dress that I REALLY like at Macy's Bridal Salon in Manhasset. I am a huge fan of the Demetrios dresses so that is why I went there. I poked around here for some reviews of Macy's Bridal Salon but only found a few. Anyone heard anything about it? The woman helping me was extremely nice but didn't have a very good grasp of the English language. She also wrote down the wrong style number of the dress for me. I had to go on the Demetrios web site and find the correct style number myself.

and on ur 1st dress shopping experience. fun!
I got my dress at Macy's Bridal but in the city. they have been nothing but nice and competent with me so far. will see how the fitting and alterations will go

Like you, I love Demetrios dresses- I had a feeling I was going to end up getting a Demetrios dress. I bought mine from their bridal salon in Manhattan. I had a wonderful experience there!

Thanks everyone for posting! Whether you were saying 'hi' or you had an experience with Macys After having a night to sleep on it I know I want that dress!!! It's so funny how your vision of the wedding comes together after you find your dress...

I will update everyone at end of week...I should (hopefully) have ordered my dress by then (crossing fingers...) Just gonna see if they have it in a few other stores for a different price (Lynbrook Bridal, Lillettes). Someone told me about Burtons and they can get dresses there for a discounted price. I checked their website and they have Demetrios dresses there. I am skeptical though because I want to try the dress on again...

I think I read some bad reviews about Macy's bridal but I don't remember all the details.

Thats where I got my dress I love it f see Suzanne is is the best and was great I was there on Sat getting my heapiece and veil when where you there

I can't STAND macy's bridal in manhasset. Why you ask? Here's a list.

The brides dress was too big and they altered it before the bride tried it on. Then it was tooo tight. She told the seamstress to not touch it and she did. The day of she had to wear double sided tape to keep it up.

They wanted to order me a size 8 BM dress. I ended up getting a size 4 and STILL had to have it taken in a lot

They were supposed to rush order one of the bridesmaids dress. It arrived 1 month before the wedding

They ordered and shipped the wrong size bm dress to an out of state bm

That out of state bm had to come to LI for a day to get fitted. Then it wasn't correct and she had 2 fittings 24 hours before the wedding

When i was there picking up my dress a bride was fighting with them cuz they ordered the bm dress in the wrong color about 2 months before her wedding
Also while i was there they ordered a FG dress in a wrong size for someone else but wanted to charge the mother for a 2nd dress

I'd go elsewhere.

i also started at Macys bridal looking at Demetrios dresses. i had a good experience however when i did price comparisons i found out that Macys was much more expensive then other store in my area for the same dress.
