Finally the time has come! We went to Here comes the bridesmaids in Lake Success. A small, personalized type place, you need an appointment to shop there.
The dresses are by Jim Hjelm, Here's what I chose. Every girl will be in a different dress. I let them choose what they felt most comfortable in.
The maid of honor will be in a darker dress. The colors I chose were PASSION FLOWER (darker purple) for MOH and LILLY (lighter purple) for the girls. All in the material Soft Satin. Heres the color chart:

I still have 2 more BM to fit. One lives in California so she will pick online & try on near her, and the other couldn't come today so it's next week back we go.
This made the whole wedding thing feel so much more real!
(Remember these dresses will all be in the SAME color & fabric)

I have 1 MOH & 4 BM's. The girls will all be in all different dresses and the same color & fabric. Not all different colors. These were just the only pictures, in these colors, I could use to show the styles

Way to go Jen! Very stylish and cool! You must feel great having this done! I went with 1 BM today to get the ball rolling and it was so exciting. This seems like one of the most fun parts- good excuse to go shopping with the girls! Love the dresses!

It depends - will the dresses be hemmed to be off the floor, or will they be floor length? If they are of the floor, than I'd say do dyeables w/lilac. If they are floor length than silver is fine.
You might just try it out during one of their fittings. Also, keep in mind that silver might draw the eye's attention away from faces in your wedding photos. Not that the bridal party's shoes will be that much the center of attention anyway, BUT if they are shiny and peeking out from under their gowns, they could be distracting to the eye. Did that make ANY sense?

jennbaby-I wore silver strappy sandals with my lilac BM dress for my brother's wedding this summer. We all got to pick our own shoes (some wore sandals and some wore clesd toes) and it didn't distract anything. The dresses were floor length but since 3 or 4 of us were pretty tall our shoes showed slightly (we didn't order extra length for the half inch more we needed). It looked very nice. When I go home I can see if I have a picture that shows the shoes.
