and DH fell in love with a PURE breed Bassett Hound. He's 6 months old, not housebroken yet. Apparently a surgery was done on him and they 'nicked' his urinary tract or something....
it's not clear if he just can't hold it as long as most dogs or if it's uncontrollable
He was THE sweetest thing and SO lovable! What a love bug!
Should we adopt him?

i love basset hounds....but i would be scared of getting one that would pee all over the house.....although, growing up, my friend's basset hound peed all over anyway...so it might not make a difference.....

I would assume that he we never really be housetrained. If you can find some solution for that, then get him!!!

Reggie is trained and has no problems and is neutered and still pees in the house in his various spots- its hard to get male dogs that are territorial to not lift their leg.
sO I would go for it if you love him- Basset hounds are supposed to be really good dogs and really great with children.

awww, I say yes too!! He sounds like such a sweet little boy, and I'm sure Bailey would love to have a little (and I mean little!) brother to take care of too Dh used to have two Bassett Hounds and they were the most dopey and lovable dogs I've ever met. They also used to pee on the floor (I guess tis breed doesn't have good bladder control?) but they were such big mushes - I loved them so much!! Adopt him
