....the day that my dad got sick i had an appointment with a famous florist this is why i will not mention any names not to offend anyone but you can FM me ....So I went in there of course just to get an idea and it was my first appointment with a florist ever!!! first of all I have no idea what color my bm dresses will be yet there so many beautiful colors out there that i can't decide but anyway I am trying to put in my head that this is why the appointment was a catastrophe because I just don't want to think in a million years I WAS DISCRIMINATED not in this time 2008!!! so I go in and I got the lady she asked me where i was getting married and to fill out some paper work so I did she asked me what was my color scheme and I said I wasn't really sure but what can she recommend. She started pulling out a slide show SHE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO USE THE COMPUTER she didn't even bring me a sample of the centerpieces she would just say oh this one will be nice do you like it?? i was speechless I asked how about those calla lilies in the darker color and she said THOSE ARE TO EXPENSIVE and didn't even ask my budget for flowers she then on went and said that for the church I didn't have to use flowers but to use something else and that i could do it myself...I WAS LIKE in my head WHAT??? I am willing to spend the money i think is right for flowers why is this lady telling me that i can't afford it if she never asked my budget anyway i felt like she picked the worst looking flowers and cheapest she wasn't trying to help at all and I felt soooo sad it was a bad visit ...so my question to you ladies is DID THEY SHOW YOU SOME SAMPLES??? when you went to see a florists did you know already your color scheme?? if you didn't did they try to help you??? I really got discourage from this vendor I don't know if I could go back if i ever do i will ask for someone else a good friend of mine is getting married in 09 and she told me wonders of this vendor but she used another person instead she got really upset when she heard and wanted to report her I of course dont want to cause any drama or get her in trouble. Other than that my appointment was at 4 and we felt rushed because I started seeing everyong in that place putting all their flowers away and turning lights OFFF it was horrible i felt really sad...FH was angry and wanted to walk out but I am a peace-maker so I convinced him to stay but oh lord it was horrible!!!...just thought about it now and decided to asks for your help recommendations etc

So I think you definitely have a right to be mad at the way you were treated, it sounds like the woman really didn't know what to do.
On the other hand, most florists do NOT show you samples until you sign with them. Yea, they show you pics of stuff they have done and sometimes in the show room they have stuff, but other than that no. That's one of the huge reasons I booked my florist, I got to see my sample b4 signing.
But either way, I wouldn't go back there, its sounds to be a little unprofessional. O and no florist ask my budget, they all just asked what I wanted and gave me a price.

I am so sorry you were treated like that. I've had vendors tell me something was 'out of my budget' without asking me what my budget was... I turned around and walked out.
It just means that florist doesn't know what to do, you'll find someone else!! I promise!!

Couldnt have said it better myself. It is so unprofessional for that woman to have treated you that way. When I went for my first florist meeting I had no clue what I wanted, but the vendor took the time to sit with me, pull some kind of non-ADD idea out of my head and went with it. That is why we are going to book with him in a few weeks. He showed me different things and really worked with us under NO pressure whatsoever. You should never have been treated that way at your meeting, so sorry you have to stress out bc of it.

I've had vendors tell me the same thing....then they have the nerve to call me back a few days later and ask if i've made a decision.
keep looking, you'll find a florist that you love

Well at pedestals they have a showroom with a bunch of CP's around the room so you do get to see that. The funny thing is that I had an idea of what I wanted and when I walked in they happened to have a calla lily, orchids and curly willow CP in their showroom so i was able to say 'ok this is exactly what I want'
I did know bm dress colors, but i also came in with a pic for bm bok, its the only pic i brought with me lol and she agreed that it would go well. For my bok i just told her I wanted Peonies and she ran with that idea for it.
I was glad that they had different types of cp's in their showroom to get an idea of what we like. I also love the ALL branch looks but when dh saw a few of them in the showroom he said no lol. Then we also saw different types of vases and were able to see what we like and don't like.
I think it was very rude for her to just come out and say 'oh those are expensive' she doesnt even know how much you are willing to spend, thats for you to determine not her. I definitely wouldn't go back

I am so sorry you had this experience. But to tell you the truth I felt like when I was booking places for our wedding the women I dealt with neevr gave as good customer service as the men. The women were always snotty and short and not knowledgable.
You have FM!!!

that was very inappropriate on her behalf and like others have said, u have a right to be mad but don't let it get you too down. they lost business by doing that, and i know you'll find a florist that is worth your time and money!

I completely agree. They aren't worth your time and money and you'll find someone who is! So don't worry! There are plenty of great florists out there and you'll find exactly what you want. I hope you are feeling better about it all, don't be down
