Went to a wedding and now I am depressed

The reception place was SO nice that I am depressed about my hall. It was here, in CT: fox hill inn

dont worry!!!! It will be what YOU make it!!!! I stopped comparing competeing a looooooong time ago! I had to take a step back and rememebr what this day is about (and it sure wasnt how much per plate i am paying) Im sure your wedding will be beautiful!!!!

Let me explain something to you... the reception hall does not make a wedding. The bride and groom make the wedding!!! I went to wedding in Virginia and hte place was 'okay' nothing to brag about, but it was the most BEAUTIFUL and BEST wedding I've ever been too, because the room was so filled with happiness and love. It was a very emotion filled wedding. Don't ever compare anything to anyone elses... your wedding will be gorgeous! Hey- I'm going to a wedding at OHEKA CASTLE 5 days before my own!!!! Keep your chin up and remember, you will be a princess on your wedding day - no matter where it is held!!!

awww! i totally understand...i booked my hall and was blown away by what i saw here, and suddenly my hall wasn't good enough. but the girls are right- nothing is more important than the marriage, and you will be beautiful no matter what!

I TOTALLY AGREE!!!

But don't feel like you are alone in your hall-envy, I've been having second thoughts about my place too -- but I keep reminding myself that there were very specific reasons we chose it -- like budget, proximity to my parent's house, and the date.

Ditto to everything everyone has already said. Remember, a wedding is a party, and the place is secondary to the people in it. You will be surrounded by your friends and family that day, and you'll have a blast! Also, remember the 'grass is always greener' rule...of course you're going to feel that way about some other place now and then after you've booked your place! No matter where you get married on Long Island, the reception is going to be beautiful.

I've had the same dilemma...I wasnt crazy about the reception hall myself either-but after talking to a few friends and especially after reading what you ladies said, I feel so much at ease...its true-your wedding is what YOU make of it. The food, music and the true love vibe in the air is what makes the party!!!

I had wanted Flowerfield much more than WM but I had to compromise since his large family wasn't kicking in anything.

oh please! back in May I went to a communion at the Chateu Briand and I got depressed too....thinking my WEDDING wasn't going to be as nice as this kids' COMMUNION but hey, I had to sit back and put things in to prospective. the communion was overkill-your wedding will be your taste!! don't forget it. there is a reason you picked your place- and as long as you have a great band/DJ and food, everyone will love it.
