Went to a wedding at Flowerfield last night
Thought I would share my mini review for all the girls and guys out there...
First of all, I thought a Sunday night wedding would be really bad, but it wasn't that painful. So I lost an extra 2 hrs of sleep...no big deal.
The place is GORGEOUS...especially the ambiance and the decor. Walking into the cocktail hour, there were white swans walking around...FI goes 'Thought this was Flowerfield, not the Swan Club' dork! lol...
Inside, the bridge leading to the reception room was amazing, and there were HUGE Japanese Koi swimming in the stream below the bridge (sorry, I forgot to take pics)
The cocktail hour room was big and spacious, plenty of room to sit....they had bud vases with roses floating on each table....
I was a little suprised that there wasn't that much food, however. I thought there would be more choices....There was a carving station, a chinese station, and a cheese and cold antipasta station...and a pasta station. That was all..but maybe that was just the couples budget, I don't know....the had the same stations on both sides...so when we walked across the room, thinking there was more stuff, it was the same as what was on our side...
The food was good, they had a wheel of hot, melted brie cheese...TO DIE FOR!
The Reception room was BREATHTAKING with the covered chairs and the lighted tulle hanging from the ceiling, with a view of the pond and landscaping outside....
The dinner was good. I had the filet mignon, it was a little overcooked, but I think they may have given me someone else's cause I asked for medium rare and it was nowhere near. it was good anyway. FI had lobster and shrimp crepes...DELISH...very filling....Someone else had chicken and they said it was really good.
The salad/appetizer was AMAZING! It was a salad and these mushroom pastries with cheese in them...if you like mushrooms, then you would have loved them....
The cake was chocolate with rasberry and white chocolate mousse filling. It was really good....the dance floor was packed and there was plenty of room to dance. The wait staff was very friendly and our waitress kept the drinks coming for most of the night....
All in all, it was a beautiful place and we had a great time....Flowerfield brides have nothing to worry about !
