Went to a wedding at Fox Hollow

Went to a wedding at Fox Hollow

Ok guys, ever since my wedding, I can't help but take notice of every little detail when I go to other weddings.
I'm sorry to say I was not at all impressed with this place. Its very possible that there were too many people- BUT if you can't accomodate 28 tables or more then don't say you can.
The cocktail hour was way too crowded. They had put long tables together and it appeared to be in rows of 20 people on each side of the table. Really uncomfortable and we felt on top of each other. Only one bar way in the back of the room.

However, the food was good.

The service in the main room was horrendous. Not one waiter came to our table to offer us drinks. We had to ask for water at least 5 times before someone actually gave us some. Once again, the 1 bar was in the back by the DJ.
The waiters carried at least 25 dishes on a small tray and walked by us with the trays above our heads. We ended up passing our dishes down b/c they overpiled everything.

My mom was at the head table and they forgot to serve the wedding cake. The chocolate fountain was such a mess!! They put it way in the back and had nobody supervising. Chocolate was all over people's shirts and dresses.
All in all not pleased. I'm just writing this so that those of you having your wedding there can be alert and ask questions. Make sure you establish exactly how you want your wedding to be. Service should be 1st priority!!

Sorry to hear about that...

But i have to say our wedding was PERFECT. From the waiters to the food to the service, to the bridal suite, to the attendants and maitre'd......

100% PERFECT.

Couldn't have asked for anything better

I'm so glad to hear that. My post was not written to upset or offend anyone.

I really just want to tell you girls if you're having a big wedding of 275 people or more to be aware and to make sure everything goes smoothly.
I have been there before and had a great night. This however was definetly just too many people.

I looked at Fox Hollow originally but even though the guy was saying they could fit my crowd (i had over 300 invited) i knew after seeing that room there was no way that many people could fit there.

You girls should watch out for this because most halls will do this. The North Ritz (where i got married) stated they could fit 350 and i had 270 at my wedding and there was NO WAY they could fit another table in that room and i had the rectangle ones (the round ones were impossible to have with the number i had)....plus the coctail hour room is much smaller (except we had outside too).

I also went to a wedding a Floral Terrace that was a large wedding and the CH room was so small that a lot of people could not get into the room to get food.

So be careful, becaue some of these halls claim they can fit a lot more then they really can.

Thanks for the heads up. I agree that there were way too many people. Was that on Sunday b/c FH and I went to check out the Fox cuz he hadn't seen it before then and we saw them setting up an unbelievable amount of tables in the garden terrace room.

We plan to have around 160 people so I'm not worried but good pointer about the chocolate fountain. I heard they can be a mess. My sister went to a wedding and needless to say she got choc. all over her dress. Good thing she was drunk and had a black dress on. :)

Yes this was last Sunday. I'm not sure of the names of the rooms. The cocktail room was the 2nd room past the desk, and the main room was past the bathrooms and down the stairs. We had a view of the outside patio which was in disarray. (chairs and tables all over the place, looked like they forgot to clean up a party from the night before)

We had tomatoes with fresh mozarella, then pasta, then my husb. had lambs chops and I had filet mignon. All very good!!! The chocolate fountain was delicious-no doubt! They also had a nice expresso station set up for flavored liquors & stuff.
They had Italian style cookies which were good & choc. mouse (I didn't taste that). The wedding cake was chocolate with rasberry filling I think, and it wasn't too moist.
