Went to a Wedding at the Crescent Beach Club & Timepiece

Just thought I would post for any future brides-- the church was at St Raphael (east Meadow) and we stayed at the East Norwich Inn -- The Crescent Beach Club-- let me start off with I have always heard good things about the place so went in with positive thougths/feelings-- the cocktail was on the beach/patio and the weather was perfect for it-- the food was good for the cocktail hour but not much of a variety-- 4 hot dishes, carving, and then some cold antipasto/cheese table-- and that was really it they had frozen drinks which was nice for the beach theme-- reception--they used Time Piece which I had also heard great things about-- I was not overly impressed with them--they did some songs FABULOUS and then others you were completely shocked at how it sounded (not positive at all) as for the band itself they did a lot of add in noises--like clips from tv shows, noises etc--just not my taste --- other than that they were good-- there seemed to be a relationship going on with 2 of the members and their sexual advances to each oteher were pretty gross to watch-- also the band is set up on a stage--so the singers are on the floor and numerous times they set at the edge of the stage while on break--not professional in my mind at all-- as for the rest of the night--dinner was ok and they had a dessert tray on each table (Cookies) overall it was a great day-- oh yeah there was a lot (LOT) of silence from the band and there breaks were exceptionally long-- I hope this helps anyone --and again this was just my view from a past bride (4 months) who feels like a professional bridesmaid/guest-- been to 8 weddings since my own in April!!!! Laura

Some more...

Laura, I am using Timepiece so Im a bit worried. Would you mind giving more detail (so I can make sure I discuss this with band beforehand)? For example: Do you remember which songs they did poorly? well? What they did that lead you to believe there was a relationship? What types of breaks? (there should not have been any silence!) Anything else you can remember? Thanks!!

?? for Laura about the East Norwich Inn

My wedding next year is in the Sea Cliff/Glen Cove area and I have not been able to find a hotel for my guests that is nice and not too far from there. We live in East Norwich and I was wondering about the EN Inn for my guests. Can you tel me your thoughts on it and whether it seemed expensive or not?

I booked Timepiece too....

I am horrified to hear that about Timepiece. Please, Laura, tell me more about what went wrong. I only sent them one deposit, so more info would be most appreciated!

?? for Laura about the East Norwich Inn

My wedding is at the Crescent and I blocked rooms out for my guests. The prices are $235 for a suite and $118 for a regular room. That is for next September.

Timepiece/East Norwich

I am a little crazy right now but am hoping that some of this might help keep my mind off of this tragedy timepiece--sorry if i caused concern--they were fine--just some concerns i had-- the lead singer(blond male) and the female singer-- just to give you an idea-- he was on the stage she was on floor--during song he went over towards her and leaned over and she leaned up(tip toes) and the tongued each other in the air--not exactly a sight i would want to see-- as for the silence-- the beginnning of the night they played quite a few songs BEFORE the bridal party was even announced--whcih was odd-- then they said dinner was being served - which hadnt started yet and put on instrumental music--during the night we did a group college pic(and there wer about 30 of us) so it took some time to assemble--well instead of just having music play there was total silence--nothing--- i cant remember specific songs-- but they were very much performing--with little dance routines--but that is what some people like as well--just my opinion again i dont think they were the worst but def not one of the best i have seen--even in the past 4 months sorry if i worried anyone--but i know how helfpul some posts were for me so i was trying to do the same Laura any more questions feel free to ask

Thanks.

Thanks for the information. I hope everyone you know and love is safe. Don't worry about disturbing anyone with your review - your input is appreciated. To those who booked Timepiece - I don't remember a blonde male singer?? Just dark haired guys.

To Sonicstef

Thats what I was thinking unless it was the guitar player who does sing some lead. I am sure it will work out.
