Went to a wedding this weekend..

I was the MOH in my friend's wedding this saturday. The day was very stressful and crazy... My advice to any bride is... if your not happy with someone in your party don't feel like you have to keep them in your party since you feel bad.. My friend was not to happy with me since a couple of months ago when it was time for her bridal shower she wanted me to pay for her party of 150 guests, of course I refused. Anyway the day of the wedding all the girls go to the salon to get their hair done and of course everyones hair was done except for mine. I was left at the salon for an hour and 15 mins. Once I was picked up I was rushed the whole time... We made it to church everything went well except the butterfly release... The butterflies were stuck to the box. Some made it out and some were dead... We were then headed to the park to take pics... When we get to the park they realize we can't take pics since there is no permit.. Ladies always ask if you need a permit...
We end up at Leonard's at 6pm and waited around in the bridal suite until we made our grand entrance at 9 pm after the 45 min presentation I had to say my speech and I had a panic attack... After the whole thing, I finally made it to my table which was all the way in the back.. She had the big ballroom on the lower level. I didn't like it too much, since it was so big. The people in the back didn't get to see what was going on. We didn't see the cake cutting, garter/boquet toss. The service was ok... We ate around 10, but we always had drinks since were close to the bar... All in all it was a nice wedding..

You said she expected you to pay for her shower. What did you mean by that, because as I know, I thought tradition was that the BP chips in and helps to pay for it. Was she expecting you to foot the whole bill?

Well I was the oldest in her party, the rest of her bridal party was 20 or younger.. She was very exact about what she wanted for her bridal shower. She gave me a list of 150 people and said it was my duty as the MOH to pay for the party.. I never heard of such a thing. I offer to help and I told her that I could not pay for the entire party.. She said to forget all about it, and that I didn't have to help... From that point on it was down hill...

WOW...she wanted you to pay for the whole shower? That is just crazy. What does it matter if the others were younger? If they accepted the position, isn't it their job to help monitarily as well?

I don't understand why she was so angry that you wouldn't fit the bill solo! Was she a bridezilla?

Wow, does she think you are related to Donald Trump?? Expecting you to pay for that many people?? Geez, I would have dropped out of being MOH if my friend said that to me and expected that from me.

Aww, I'm so sorry!! What a horrible way for your friend to treat her MOH!! I can't believe she left you alone at the hair salon for so long and then had you seated at the back of the room!! I'm glad you learned from it, and know first-hand how a MOH should be treated!

A true Bridezilla!!!

wow...the tradition in my family has been for teh bridal party to all chip in and buy a big shower gift for the bride and groom...like the luggage or china.

Usually the mother and FMIL of the bride pay for the shower...and the Bridal Party pays for the decorations and prizes; and helps send out invites, decorate the place and assist in opening gifts...and coordinates the games and prizes at the shower....showers cost too much $$ for one person to foot on their own.

sorry you had to deal with such a Bridezilla....and Im a bit appauled that she would sit the MOH in the back of the room.

it might not have been intentional. Our Best Man was seated with 'his group' toward the back of the room. (he told us that he didn't want to sit with the rest of the bridal party)

I brought her entire luggage off her registry and gave her a huge cake for the bridal shower...
