Went to Duet yesterday...

Went to Duet yesterday...

and they raised the price a little I think. I emailed her about two weeks ago and she sent me a special saying everything was 3,000.
When FI and I went in yesterday the same paper said 3,699. It has almost all the same things the only difference was the one in the store said 12 hour max. and said 40-50 in book.. the one online said 30.
What should I do? Say something? Anyone else go recently?

I didnt go to Duet - but i have a similar situation - this happened with my band. I got a lower quote and then because they were contemplating raising their prices I got a higher quote. I woudl definitely tell them something - especially if you talked to someone or have something written down.

I would bring up the previous quote and ask them to honor it.

I found them to be very flexible and open to negotiation. In fact, most vendors are. I haven't paid full rate for any vendor so far.

Yes, say something, a lot of vendors increase their prices each year, but since it's early Jan. they may still honor the 2004 prices, but you will have to act on it soon, they most likely won't honor them after Feb. of 2004.

When I went to see them, they told me their prices would be going up in January as many others did. You can try to see if they will honor the old prices.

i've booked with duet already, but when i went there, they did say that the prices were going up in 2004...i'm surprised nicole did not mention that to you when she originally gave you the quote in 2003...maybe since since she didn't, she may give you an extension if you talk to them about it...

we went to duet before the year ended and made them create a contract for us with what we wanted that way when this time in 04' rolled around we would still be able to get that price. Def. talk to Nicole she will work with you.

They told us that the package was changing in Jan when we booked with them. I posted that little tidbit on the official Duet thread.

I was the first bride to go in for the new year (I went on 1/2 as soon as they opened) and the prices went up. I was so busy the whole holiday week that I didn't even think to go before the the end of Dec. so I'd get the '03 prices. They threw in SO much extra stuff into the package, so I wasn't too upset. I really am so happy that I booked them!!!

I would tell them that they quoted you over the phone the lower price. Maybe they can work with you. A lot of wedding vendors change their prices at the end of Dec/ Jan.

I went on sat. but I left it for her to hold my date.. she was really busy and we didnt want to write up the contract so i told her id be in in a few weeks with some more money and to make out the contract... we wrote everything out just didnt sign it
