Went to JT, NRC & Swan Club today

Even though it was pouring rain, I still fell in love with Swan Club However, neither the Contessa or Garden rooms really blew me away, but I still loved the general atmosphere and gardnes! I have to convince FH that it's worth the trip and that our guests WILL come out there. I loved that it had a somewhat retro feel to it.

NRC was very nice, but there was too much noise from Jericho Turnpike if we had a ceremony and CH outside.

Jericho Terrace was beautiful and the price was very good, but I wasn't crazy about the room he gave us (the downstairs room). I don't think the ornate style of JT is really us.

i actually liked the way the gardens looked in the rain... ive been there for the tasting when it rained.... still so gorgeous! oh god... i wonder how many people are sick of me for my constant preaching about the place?!?! haha oh wellz....

for what its worth, i LOVEEEEE the swan club too! (and 4/5/09 is available if you want it! lol).... the gardens are gorgeous, and the contessa room is the one that i wouldve been in and i loved loved loved it, but i guess different tastes are what makes the world go round.


i'm an advocate of the swan club, only if they give me my money back! lol

Don't get me wrong, I still really like Swan Club and it's definitely at the top of the list! Maybe we'll take your date Mdawg

I still want to check out VYC and Southampton Inn.

I have stupid questions: what is nrc and where is the swan club?

I felt the same way about the Swan Club. I loved the outdoors part of it and the ceremony and CH rooms, but the reception room didn't really thrill me. It also looked like it was a little small. But we'll see, I still loved it. I think I need to convince FH though.

Cacarina, I know what you mean. I really liked it, but I am concerned that it will be too far away, considering it took me over 2 hours to get home to Middle Island in the rain

Hmm, will most of your guests be coming from far away? where will the ceremony site be? I personally think that if you have the ceremony at the same place, its not a problem. If your ceremony site is over an hour from the reception, then you run into problems. But honestly, the people who want to be there, will travel to be there.

The swan club is beautiuful the only thing that I didn't like was the room that they offer me.

If you are someone who likes swan club..but not the size of or style of the rooms... def check out Westbury Manor. Same types of grounds. Just gorgeous.

We are biased...but it is def worth checking out. It is actually closer to the highway than swan club... but in the same general location.
