went to paradise yesterday...

Original post by Im_My_Own_Princess

I wasn't super impressed... I told the saleslady what I was looking for, what my mother wanted me to try and explained that I'm open to try on other styles...
She asked my budget and I told her my MAX...

Well she pulls a few dresses that I wasn't crazy over... and we walk through the next room and I see a dress I like and I mention 'oh I like that one' well she looked at it and kept walking.. my MOH said 'hey Mag, what about this one? its gorgeous!' so I repeated that I wanted to try that one on... it was about $400 less than my MAX.
I also so another dress that I liked that was $100 less than that. but the saleslady told me 'its not your style' I'm pretty sure I said I wanted to try on different styles. I also had to ask THREE times to see a dress that was on the manekin.

she also decided she wanted to 'style' my hair... which I didn't feel too comfortable with, but w/e.

well I try on dress 1 (that she pulled) and my mother loved it, I was ok with it... dress 2 was yuck, same with 3.. and the saleswoman kept pulling dresses and all I wanted to try on with the dress my moh and I saw.. it was like she didn't want me trying on that dress, and I said that a few times. well with dress number 3 I said it didn't have enough detail, she decided to tell me that the dress I picked had LESS detail and she didn't think I should waste time trying it on... well I tried it.. and LOVED IT! granted I didn't get an AMAZING feeling, but for the most part it was what I wanted... I wish I could have taken pictures. people in the store stopped to tell me how great I looked in it. I felt amazing, well once saleslady saw everyones reaction she switched gears... 'oh I knew you'd look great in it'...

I wrote down the number (4578-87).. but I don't know the maker...

if I decide on that dress I will go back there, but I just don't want to deal with the same woman... I just didn't feel comfortable with her and I felt that she was trying far too hard to get me to spend MORE money then I could afford (considering the ones she pulled were a good $100-300 MORE then I told her my MAX was).

would they be okay with that? me seeing a different salesperson?

I did like the STORE... and the selection, just not her (oh and she totally left me for another customer, without saying anything.. AND she had the girl try on the dress I asked about.. that 'wasn't my style' and it was GORGEOUS on this girl)

also, anyone know who the maker is of 4578-87??

i worked with marge when i went there. she was very nice and flexible. she let me pull my own dresses while she picked out some as well.

Same for me!!! She was nice(not too pushy) and she helped without being overbearing! and the very first dress we picked to try on WAS THE ONE!! (And i just found out it came in today!!))

I don't care for it there either but I'd say go there and try it on again and while you're in the fitting room (tell them you don't need help) snap a picture of it and then go to another salon where they carry similar designers and show them the pic to see if they know it! At Paradise, they take off the actual labels and put their own codes on it so you can't see who it's by. If you ask them, they tell you they don't know they just go by the code on the dress. So sneaky!

Actually they never withheld any designers names from me. Everytime I asked, Patty answered without hesitation.

me too all you have to do is ask and they will tell you. I never had designers names witheld. But I know there is one nasty sales woman there who yelled at my dad and made him stand in a hallway until i was dressed when they told him to come and see me so it might have been your salesperson. If you go there to try it on again they will tell you the name of the designer if you ask.

I asked, and Stephanie told me the 'oh we go by codes' BS also... its like 'okay, you go by codes, but you could look the code up and tell me'

I just wanted to get out of there so bad to try and make it to another store... but she overheard me say this to my moh and she kept telling me I had to fill this out, then wait, fill that out then wait...

but thanks girls. Also thanks to all the girls that FM'd me... I think I might go back... but I want to check out a few other places.
