My HS used to take us to the jail. I didnt go though. Instead I cut class with a couple of guys and smoked a blunt instead!

i did that!! we had a field trip to the riverhead jail and got harassed by scary ladies. hhahaha

The ladies were not that scary, well to us teachers. They were actually scarier then the men for the kids and their was one very creepy woman who made a kid cry. The men were worse for me... 'those are the teachers, I would f*** the s*** out of them. You know what I would do to you if I could get to you. I want a piece of those f****** hot teachers.'

Its a great experience though. They put you in a holding cell and lock it, they walk you through the mens and womens housing cell blocks and then they have a Q&A in the chapel with 5-9 prisoners, who are standing right there in the room with you. They are all really nice, well obviously they did something not nice, but they were nice to us teachers, but they scared the s*** out of our students. It was really rather amusing since we were pre-warned by them what they were planning. Some of their stories were very sad though and they paint a scary picture of life in jail.

Apparently the guards tell the prisoners to yell at the kids. The whole point is to put a fear of prison in their heads so they will think twice about their actions.

Which jail were you visiting?

Jail scares me I can't imagine the people in there. I heard they're really dirty.

We are pre warned.. But just like u r a teacher that is ur job.. that was our job. I believe that experience is the best for students. but the crazy thing it is really messed up when we seen one of those students come into the jail for doing something so stupid... But we did keep our word. When then do at first we were mean 2 them but we kept them under our wing. But give them a jail experience they never want 2 come back. I did like that program.
