Went to the doctor yesterday to follow up with the chest pains I had about 3 weeks ago since the ER told me it was gas! lol. So went ot the doctor because I've also been having really bad heartburn for a week. So the doctor put me on nexium and gave me things to avoid- nuts, peppermint, mint, gum and the worst one CHOCOLATE!!! How the hell am I supposed to live without chocolate. He also told me to limit my coffee-God help everyone around me with limiting coffee-In the morning I usually drink a large iced coffee from DD during the warm months and an x-large hot coffee in the cold months and then usually i have another one of my way to class. Kill me now! Sorry this is so long had to vent especially over the no chocolate

That sucks! I kind of hope you don't get better so they figure out it's something else and then you can go back to eating chocolate and drinking coffee!

nexium is amazing. your is covers it? mine wont anymore.

That stinks...maybe once you go off of it for awhile, you can start building up your tolerance again

I was on nexium about 7 years ago but then I stopped taking it and I was fine but now the reflux is back. My insurance covers it but its $25 for it. I guess thats not bad. I used to be a pharmacy tech and if it wasn't covered it was very expensive

Me too! I love my chocolate especially during that time of the month i crave it! Plus i am a pre-k teacher and the kids start coming in at 8am so Im there usually at 7 without my coffee I don't know how ill make it through the morning

I have a weird heart thing that my doctor told me I'm supposed to avoid caffeine whenever possible. That being said, he said if I MUST have coffee (which I must ) I should drink 2 LARGE waters for every SMALL coffee. Is that something you can do maybe??

yeah i work in cardiology and this happens a lot!!
Try to best to stay away but some chocolate is ok..
Try buying Prilosec or ask ur MD for a Nexium script.
