Went to The Gates...

They were orange. Very orange. And big.

Best part? Some guy tried to return a half-eaten hotdog to a hotdog stand.

Oddest part? Christos and Jeanne-Claude drove past us as we walked through the park! Mr Boots' fancy-car-radar started pinging and he saw a $400k Maybach flanked by 3 unmarked police cars and a SWAT car. I saw Christos' ginormous orange hair.

Funniest line? Some hard-boiled New Yorker was commenting on The Gates: 'We need this crap like we need Park Slope.'

Conclusion: I'm glad I got to see it since it's a cool idea and only up for 16 days, but it's not like my life was altered by the transformative power of art. It was big and orange. Like Lindsay Lohan.

i saw it this weekend too. it was kinda cool, but weird. we were just excited to get a piece of fabric so someday we can tell our grandkids all about it

it was interesting - but it was more interesting to see whta we ame upon in the park

like the carousel
the boat house
feeding the seals at the zoo
getting itnermixed with cheney's wife and secret service

it was nice to spend a febuary day walking around the park- i would never have if it weren't for the gates

we went on saturday and i found it very interesting. just walking around we heard a lot of people say 'whats the point?' its art for the sake of art. my sisters finace likes to call it the home depot flags.....ahh, men!

I'm hoping to see it this weekend, it is a once in a lifetime art exhibit so I think I would like to check it out.

I went to see it the first day it opened. I wasn't thinking that I would really enjoy it but I really did! I thought it was beautiful. and the skill it took to get all of them up taking into consideration tons of environmental factors. I was very impressed.
