Went to the Tall Grass showcase last night
We went to the showcase at Tall Grass CC last night, and I must say, it would be a great place for a small (about 100) Spring, Summer or early Fall wedding. I would recommend it for warmer weather weddings because the cocktail hour is outside on the patio since there isn't a separate room for it.
The location seems pretty isolated (which I love) - you don't even feel like you're on Long Island.
The room had nice high ceilings, a lot of windows (that looked out onto a pretty golf course), tasteful gold chairs, and a nice sized dance floor.
The food was amazing! Smoked chicken quesadillas, new potatos w/gorgonzola and bacon, stuffed rigatoni, spicy mahi mahi, stuffed mushrooms - you name it! (And I'm very particular about food, so that's saying a lot!) The only complaint I have is that the passed trays only had a small amount of food on them and the girls had to keep returning to the kitchen to restock. That can also be a plus, since the food would always be hot and fresh then.
They had a chocolate fountain that tasted great! Sometimes the chocolate doesn't have a taste, but this one was really good. Dessert was by Create-a-Cake (I love the girls that work for them - so nice!) and so tasty. Carrot cake, rainbow cake, chocolate cake, italian pastries - wow. (I love dessert!)
There were two DJs, one was Long Island Sound and the other I totally forgot their name. Long Island Sound had a really clear sound and the MCs were full of energy.
If anyone has any questions, just ask.
