Went to wedding last wkend, going to one this wkend ... (Long)

Just wanted to post some observations from a wedding we just attended this past weekend. Definitely, more than anything ... paste a smile on your face for the day and never, never take it off. All eyes will be on you (and your groom .. but mostly you). Besides all eyes being on you, cameras are always going off as well. It may be one thing if someone catches you not smiling, but you certainly don`t want it captured on film or video. Try to find a polite way to tell people to turn their cellphones and pagers off for the ceremony. All the minor details we`re all driving ourselves nuts over, generally go overlooked by most. Do what will make you happy, and don`t make yourself crazy by going way out of your way for something. Bubbles will look pretty. It`s just a matter of coordinating them with the wind! :) Imperial Manor was a good place. The food was nothing spectacular, but it wasn`t bad either. The bonus .. they were very generous. They went around to all the tables and asked if anyone wanted another piece of prime rib!! Also, after someone had their meal, they asked if they could try a sample of salmon, and they brought out a whole new salmon dinner plate!! The wedding cake was beautiful, only it sat right in front of the bride and groom table the whole night, and blocked a clear view of the couple when they were seated. Depending on which side of the room the guests were on, you could only see one, but not the other of the couple. D-Jay Joey was good, only in my opinion was too loud for the room. It was very hard to carry a conversation with someone without getting right in their ear to talk. They gave away lots of goodies, beginning early in the night and continued on to the end giving stuff out. If you choose not to have music during the cocktail hour, I don`t think anyone will miss it. People are too busy talking and eating anyway. It`s a nice touch to have music, but definitely not needed. Overall, it was a beautiful wedding, as they all always are. The bride and groom certainly had unique touches making the day theirs. We`re going to another wedding this weekend .. this one at Fox Hollow. I`ll post a message next week on that one.

We may have been guests, but my fiance and I were extra aware of things since it will soon be our turn, and we really want to know what to watch out for. Nothing like having friends get married right before you to give you a little practice! :)

I went to a wedding on 6/15

One of my best friends from college got married last Friday. I was a bridesmaid. The main problem I saw was that she had too much space at the reception. The dance floor was at one end- then all the tables- then the bar at the other end- then a huge deck in back- and then there was a dessert room. It looked like not that many people were there. They were- but people were so spread out that many things were missed. The cake cutting, special dances...etc....people just didn't know it was happening. If you can try and pick a place that is not too big in comparison to how many people you expect. It was a beautiful wedding but it seemed lame b/c people were all over. Thanks-

Going to a wedding this weekend!

My FI & myself are going to a very close freind of ours wedding this weddend. It's at the Central Park Boat House!!Sounds Pretty neat. So I'll post those reveiews. Also another on July 4th! of all days. That's out east at a Temple. So we are going to see both sides!

I'll be thinking of you on April 26th, as I turn 29. The thought that someone is getting married and having a wonderful day will distract me from the fact that I will be ALMOST 30! : ) My wedding is on July 6th. 15 days to go... : )

I'll be getting married July 6th also, and my 30th is 5 days later on the 11th!!! My family is upset that they won't get to torture me on my birthday because I'll be cruising the Caribbean.

I'm getting VERY excited!!! I can't believe it's only two weeks away. We just closed on our new house last week and have spent all of our evenings this week cleaning it up. I still have last minute wedding things to do(because I'm not as organized as I thought I was) so I've been up doing those things after coming home from cleaning the new house. Bedtime these days is around 2am.
