We're going to register tomorrow at C&B and Macys any tips
We're just going to register for a few items tomorrow at C&B and Macy's.
Does anyone have any tips about those 2 places??
We went on line and saw some things we liked and have a good idea of what we are looking for.
We're not registering for bath or bedroom stuff as that can all wait till much later on.
So any tips would be great.
thanks

Be careful with the stuff you pick at Crate and Barrel, things get discontinued there quite often.

I chose Bloomingdales over Macy's as they have almost the same things but Bloomingdales has a MUCH better return policy.

Try to walk around C&B as much as you can before registering.... they tend to spread their items out, so one category (such as glassware) might be in different areas of the store. My FH and I just started zapping things that we liked, and then ended up finding ones we liked better, so we had to take off the first ones once we were done registering. We should have walked around more to see where everything was before we made our decision. I don't know if all of the C&B stores are like that, but the one in Manhasset is! It was still SO much fun!!!

Dont get Calphalon pots. They are SO DAMN heavy, the handles get SO HOT and they are the most expensive ! Worse decision I made on my registry !
Think about how much the items cost. (sorry this is the 'Shopper' in me). I know we go in there with the gun, and ZAP AWAY as if its a shopping spree, but think about things like 'if someone is going to spend $50 on my gift'....would you rather them get you THIS or THAT ? There are so many things that are SOO overpriced (I registered for and GOT a coffee/cappucino maker that was close to $200) and I NEVER used the cappucino part, I should have known. So I could have just registered for a $70 coffee maker. but I was in the BLISS of the ZAPPER ! LOL
Think practical and useful and get whatever your heart desires ! HAVE FUN - and you might as well hand over the zapper gun to Brian as soon as you get there, they need the toy to keep them interested ! I think that gun is the only reason guys go along to register !
OK, I'll stop babbling ! Happy Shopping !

Macys will give you store credit only w/in 30 days and they will only replace broken items that were broken upon arrival...and then only within a week I think.
Not sure about C&B's policy.
Bloomies will give you CASH for anything you get and will replace any broken items up to 60 days after the wedding, I think.

Thanks Anna
I am excited about going. I just love shopping
I think its going to be a fight over the gun. I want to zap everything and he'll probably be the practical one. We'll be like 2 5 year olds fighting over a toy
What kind of pots do you suggest are good to register for?? Brian and I have a deal, he can register for all the kitchen stuff because he'll be doing all the cooking (but I want a specific coffee pot and blendar) and I can register for everything else

Im not a pro about any other pots. But I'll tell ya I got 2 Farberware pots that I didnt register for, and they are my babies, they are used almost every single day ! The calphalons, sit there, I dread even picking them up to use them. I just give them dirty looks !

If you log onto C&B's website or call one of the stores, they can tell you when they are having one of there engagement mornings. It is on Sunday morning between 10 and 12. The store is only open to people registering and they provide coffee and other breakfast stuff including momosas. The store is fully staffed and everyone is there to help you. They explain the return policy and give you guides to making selections around the store. It was the most relaxing and fun registering experience.

Im sure there are tons of others brands out there, but Farberware seems to be the 'good ol reliable' ones ! Theyve been around forever and they seem to be durable and easy to lift
Let him pick out his pots

I know that you said that your not doing bath stuff until later (good idea ) but when you do...don't register for Ralph Lauren bath towels. I got them for my shower on 3/29 and when I took them out of the dryer last night, they were starting to fray already. You'd think Ralph Lauren would be good quality...I guessed wrong! I'm going to try to return them and see what happens.
Good luck and have fun!!! I really had a blast registering. Don't try to do it all in one day. You'll make yourself crazy. Take your time and enjoy it!
