I'm very depressed lately. We're not going on a honeymoon and I am just so upset. We just cannot afford it and I refuse to do a short, local 'honeymoon' because it just depresses me so far beyond anything. With my sister's wedding only two months before mine and NO ONE helping me out for her shower, I just don't have any money leftover Because of her wedding, I don't even have enough money for my own. It's obviously not her fault, but I'm just so upset. Then, two of my good friends are getting married in May, right before me. I just cannot afford any of this, and I cannot cut back anymore than I already have. I just want to call off this stupid wedding and get married at town hall.

ALOT of couples dont go or have dealyed HMs fpr many reasons. there is NOTHING wrong no going on a honeymoon. We are going to the Cape for a few days and back to work to pay bills. Maybe later in the year we will do something.

The idea of postponing the Honeymoon is definitely a good option. You could go and relax and not be concerned about scrapping up any additional money that you may not have.

u have no idea how many times i heard 'oh you are going to aruba??' umm yea.... thats where I WANT TO GO..... sorry if i dont have 12 grand to waste on a honeymoon and would rather buy a house! i think what you are doing is perfectly fine! dont listen to what other people say! its your day!!!!!!!!!

If it makes you feel better - Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro didn't go on a honeymoon either.
Christina Applegate and her husband (some hot guy whose name I forgot) took their honeymoon 3 years after their wedding.
(I KNEW my obsession with Us weekly would pay off someday!)
tell people that not going on a honeymoon is very hot right now in Hollywood.

Thank you so much girls. You have definitely made me feel better. We are going to look into maybe going to the Keys for four days. This way we can get away, but not have to blow our budget. My mom was really sweet and offered to help me pay for my sister's shower. I don't think I'm going to take her up on it, but she said even if I need it last minute, she can help me out. So I'm glad I have that option, but I just don't want to ask anything more of anyone else. Thank you so much again. It really means a lot to hear from all of you!

I am so sorry you are going through this. I completely understand about money issues. I think looking into the keys is a great idea. We just went there last year and it was very affordable and you felt as if you went to a far off place. Hang in there!

People always have such ridiculous things to say. FI and I are going to the Bahamas and I hear obnoxious comments about that as well. Going to the Keys sounds really nice, what about Colorado or California and see some things. You would probably be able to do something in the States for pretty cheap. My aunt always books her cruises last minute b/c they are always less. Maybe you could do something like that. Even if you don't go on a honeymoon now you will go on so many more vacations and have special events after you are married. Just don't listen to people's stupid comments.
