Were you disappointed/surprised by how many people came to your wedding?

We have probably 65-70% OOT guests, but many of them talked about making the trip out to LI for our wedding. This past week we have gotten quite a few responses declining of people we thought were coming (including FH's aunt who had agreed to be our DOC ) and I'm getting a little disappointed. We thought we'd have about 225 guests and we're looking more like 200 at this point. I feel really bad for FH because it's a lot of his people. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yea we have a lot of people from OOT also. Some are coming and some are not. We had a lot more Nos than we expected.

I was not disappointed at all. In fact, I might have had more Yes's then I thought I would. Ah, I miss my wedding!

We had invited 260, and we had 200. I knew most of the ones that said no weren't going to come, but I did have a handful that I thought were a def. yes, say no. I was upset at first, but don't let it get to you. You're not going to care about the number count that day

We got married in the dead of winter. We invited 250 people. We expected 200. We had 159. Surprisingly, most of the 'no's' were local - NY/NJ area. We did have people coming from California, Texas, North Carolina, Florida and Illinois. If people want to come, they will come.
I got married the week after you and we had 127 out of 152 show up. We kind of thought it was because people didn't have a lot of other commitments like they do in other seasons. Almost all of our OOTers showed except my two cousins who live in Austria and we only one no show on the day of.
I was surprised at how many people came. Shocked all of us, we thought we'd have a hard time meeting our minimum of 100. We enjoyed the number of people that we had.

I was disappointed about the people that could not come but even more the day of the wedding that some pople didn't show up that said yes.

I WAS SHOCKED ON SOME GUESTS WHO REPLIED 'NO' , BUT OVER ALL I HAD A HUGE TURNOUT

Disappointed..we invited over 200 and had a final of 125.

I was completely shocked at the number of people that attended the actual ceremony. I thought we would get about 50% attendance from the guests and it was about 98%.

We were very upset at our turnout at first because we were in the same boat as you. Although, about 90% of ours were OOT. We even had BP drop out so close to the wedding. A few of my BMs decided to go together and leave their spouses at home. It was all weird. People had been planning the trip for the wedding even before we were engaged. I guess 18 months wasn't enough notice.
Our final: 182 invited 96 showed We guaranteed 125

I have been disappointed so far. Invited 186, and 115 people said yes. That just makes my minimum...now who knows what will happen with the no shows.

Well, we invited 240 people & had about 132 show up. We were a bit disappointed, although many of our guests were from OOT. However, i found that day, all that mattered were those that WERE with us and you look around and are just so happy all those people are there to share your day with you.

We were disappointed with the number of people on my DH's side that declined. His grandmother is the oldest of 8 and none of her siblings came to the wedding. We were sad because they had all attended my BIL's wedding two years before...
In the end, it didn't really matter because everyone that did attend had an awesome time.
