werid question

werid question

My father passed away when I was six.

I always knew that my wedding day would be really hard. I usually leave the room when the father/daughter dance is on, at previous weddings.

Would it be weird if I danced a father/daughter song with my FH as a tribute?

I understand why you think it may be weird, but I think it is a great way to honor him. I think you should if you will be comfortable with it.

Me and Fh anre dancing to 'I'll Remember', Madonna as a tribute to our mothers and his father.

I lost my Dad 3 years ago and totally understand the feeling - I always leave when I see the Father Daughter dance...it's just too hard. For me personally, I would have a very tough time doing a dance like that. I think I would start bawling. Sorry. JMO. But if you can get through it, I think it sounds very nice.

So long as you feel you can emotionally handle it than go for it!! I am sure your dad would feel honored!

Its kind of like your dad use to protect you now your FH will. I love it...I think you should most definitely..SO SWEET :

Re: werid question

I think it would be nice if you did your first dance with FH. And then instead of a Father-Daughter dance, dance a Mother-Daughter dance.

I say this as respectfully as possible - but a 3rd dance seems a little much. Your father will be there with you in spirit, either way.

Not weird at all! I actually thing it is a very nice thing to do and don't see anything weird about it.

My girlfriend danced with her father's BFF and another with her uncle and another with her brother.

I see no prob dancing with FH. I don't think I would be able to dance with anyone cause I'd be a wreck, but like everyone said if you are strong enough, go for it!

Re: werid question

i think its cute.

Reminds me of the song, i loved her first..
specifically the line
'look at the two of you dancing that way
lost in the moment in each others face
so much in love your alone in the place
like theres nobody else in the world'

I cant say id be able to get through a song like that but if you can its great :) maybe make it shorter?

Honestly I do not know know what I am going to do - I lost my Mom and my Dad and the thought of their name even being mentioned will propably break me down -

My oldest Brother is walking me down - But I dont think I will be strong enough to dance with him - but I know my FH Mom will want to dance with him

Why not dance with your mother. My girlfriends father passed away when she was a teenager.. at her wedding her mother gave her away..and she danced her first dance w/ her mother (her sisters came up and joined) ..of course not a dry eye in the room -
If that is too hard for you, you can skip it all together...
