werid question

Original post by azailia

My father passed away when I was six.

I always knew that my wedding day would be really hard. I usually leave the room when the father/daughter dance is on, at previous weddings.

Would it be weird if I danced a father/daughter song with my FH as a tribute?

I'd say go for it if you think you can handle it!

My dad died when I was 14. I skipped the dance entirely at my wedding. There is a song by his favorite band that every time I hear it, I feel like he's with me... so instead of the dance, I had that song played during dinner... I didn't want it announced because it was special to just me, made me feel like he was there.

I think it's great. My father passed away when I was 17 and I am going to dance with my brother to a song that reminds us of our Dad as a tribute to us and him.

I don't think that is weird at all. I lost my dad when I
was 18 I will be 38 and still can't stay at wedding during the father/daughter dance. But if you can handle it then do it. I am getting married the night before my dads b-day so at midnight FH will dance to a song as a tribute to my dad. FH suggested a photomontage to play during the dance but I think that will be wayyyyy to hard. Go with your heart on this one!!!

do you have any siblings? maybe you could dance with a brother or something and remember your father as a family

I think that if it is uncomfortable for you than you don't have to do it at all.
