yes...I'm going with purple and silver.

Interesting color scheme.. So the dresses for the bp will be purple as well?

their dresses are going to be purple but I love beading so they might have silver beading. My dresses are going to be white (not my choice) but I'm adding hints of silver and purple a well

Did you know want any white at all for your dress or just not pure white? I am having an ivory and silver beaded dress. I fought not to wear pure white although I lost the battle on having a veil cover my face. My mother would not budge!!

I feel your pain...everyone who knows me knows that I love color....but I'm not paying for my dress so I lost the battle to but it's not over til it;s over....lol

My family is making sure that I wear white...I think they think it's their wedding...lol

Oh the drama I went through on that one!!! My mother used every psychological game in the book to get me to wear a pure white dress. I wasn't having it!!!

I am just going to do what I want because at the end of the day It's not her wedding....I'll wear white for the ceremony but I'm changing at the reception into the brightest dress I can find...lol...that way we can both be happy....lol

Yea I kind of see your point. the day we decided on my dress I subconciously tried on like 3 not so nice pure white dresses and one that was champagne (I thought my mom was going to die in the shop)

Then I tried on this beautiful ivory gown with a cathedral length veil and my mom finally gave in. she said I can deal with it not being white as long as you wear the veil.

And that was it and she made the deposit!!!!!

I'm gonna try to upload pics because the pic on the website has the dress in white and not ivory.

But since you don't want white at all that might be a bitg tough.

I really don't get what the big deal is. I was going to wear one, I just didn't want to cover my face. She really took offense when I asked if it was necessary, she acted as if I questioned if I should get married in a church!! She can be a bit dramatic at times.
Lord knows the wedding would be off if I said no church wedding!!!

No flower girl or ring bearer. Wow!! So is there going to be anything traditional at the wedding to make your mom feel somewhat at ease or you are flipping the script on everything? Your mother must be going nuts!

BTW, I'm soo not trying to be a stalker but did you by any chance go to York College? My sister is a sophomore there and she said you look familiar.

And congrats on the recent engagement!!

I'm not sure as yet....I will have some traditional stuff but I love to be different....I don have that many family members coming because they live outside of the US and can't travel here so my guests will consist of mostly my friends. I kind of want my wedding to be more like a party. I'm all about having fun. I am having a priest marry us so that;s traditional...lol...but as soon the ceremony is over I want to break loose and enjoy the wonderful day.

By the way, the reason for no flower girl and ring bearer is because I have too many little nephews and cousins and god children to choose from....lol...thats leads to why I wasn't having children at the wedding either.....lol...my madness never ends...lol
