Westbury Gardens for E-pics - UPDATED, Garden City Gazebo instead

We were going to use Argyle park in Babylon, but my job is having me be in Jersey the night of the pictures... so I need a place in Nassau - do you have to call ahead to schedule with Westbury gardens or just show up?

I've never been to Westbury gardens, have no idea where it is.

So I asked my photographer for suggestions and he said the Garden City Gazebo - I saw some other e-pics posted on here that were taken there that came out very nice. Certainly wasn't my first choice, but to track out to Babylon when I have to be in NJ that night, just didn't make sense... it's only e-pics anyway. I'm sure they'll come out nice and best of all, no appointments or site fees, just show up and shoot.

i know that you have to pay a site fee for pics on your wedding day , i would call ahead , there is also the Garden City Gazebo which is free and really beautiful

i'm not sure if you need to make a reservation at the gardens to take engagement photos. i don't think so. i think you only need it for wedding photos. you should contact diane filbry, she coordinates the wedding photos at the gardens. if you e-mail her, she'll get to you quicker than calling and leaving a message.

I just left a message... the greeting says they are booked for 2007 weddings, not sure if that includes a monday night?

Any other Nassau suggestions???

I am almost sure that you do-you still have to pay if I remember correctly-the site fee to take your pictures there as they consider it commercial photography-so you can show up to walk around and take your own pics but you may run into a problem if you just go there for your epics b/c you need the licensing information

OWG is off of Jericho Turnpike...not sure the name of the road once it crosses JT but you can take ellison avenue across JT and the entrance is up on the right hand side

How about Planting Fields!!! It was so great we went there for my epics. I originally wanted OLD Westbury Gardens but the girl was rude and say that we couldn't do it becuase we had to make reservations 8 weeks in advanced even if it was just my fiance and I and our photog. (I thought that was crazy!!!).
