So I went to see Westbury Manor and fell in love with it. My BM was extremely nice and very understanding. I would have booked this place in a heartbeat however, one issue is erking me. Their cocktail hour starts at 8:30 on a friday night for the Garden Room, if we want to use the downstairs rooms. If we wanted a 7:30 cocktail start, we would have to use the upstairs room which holds 100 max. Our guest total would probably be 130. Is 8:30 a late cocktail start for a Friday? I asked about Saturday and their cocktail start time is 8PM, which i feel is still late. Any advise would help!!!! Did anyone else looking at Westbury Manor have the same thoughts?

Re: Westbury Manor Brides
I'm not booked at Westbury Manor but my ceremony is a Saturday night @ 8 and my cocktail hour is @ 8:30. I'd rather have that than a daytime wedding though. I asked if tehy could move time up earlier too but they said they couldn't b/c of the daytime party.

Re: Westbury Manor Brides
I was between Friday and Sunday night and I ended up choosing Sunday night because of the late cocktail hour issue and the time dinner would have been served, I think around 10pm? Our cocktail starts at 6:30-7:30pm, reception at 7:30-11:30pm. I thought that was perfect for us and it worked out cheaper than the Friday quote.

This was a huge struggle for us too. Ultimately I decided that it's a special occasion, people can stay out late one night, and it's better than getting up at 6 AM for the afternoon wedding! We went with it because we loved it there and wanted a Sat night with the ceremony. Just think about it for a while, I slept on it while looking at other venues and decided that was the way to go. Also my friends and family had no prob with it!

I was worried about this when we booked as well thinking it would be too late, but it's a Friday night so people can stay late. Most venues do this because they dont want two events clashing at the same time so this is not something that only Westbury Manor does...If you get the biggest room (Manor Room) you'll get to start early and end early as well. Re: Westbury Manor Brides
Im having my reception at WM (garden room) on a Saturday night and the time was an issue for me too. Im not sure if there policy changed or not, but my cocktail hour was supposed to start at 8:30pm if we had the ceremony there. We are having the ceremony at a seperate location so our cocktail hour now starts at 8pm. We are fine with the late start though since it is a Saturday night and we don't have a lot of elderly family members attending.

Re: Westbury Manor Brides
I was just at WB Manor in the Garden room celebrating my anniversary. I was in the Garden room too and 8 seemed like a late start but it worked out fine. Dinner was served at about nine thirty.
