So our cake comes in our deal, I went to the bakery today and was charged $100 to add an inch worth of bling to each tirer... is that price normal?

I haven't seen their cakes yet, do they schedule that for you or you have to set an appointment yourself? How much bling are they putting on the cake? I decorate cakes on the side and cake crystals/blings dont cost that much.

You have to set up the appt yourself, and I provided the bling they only have to wrap it around...think its over priced as well

That's crazy if you already bought it!!
I would talk to someone at WM... tell them $100 is crazy for them to wrap bling around the cake haha.

Ok i thought your banquet manager was Ian. I would definitley speak to them and see what they can do.

Anytime I had a problem I spoke to Ian (he is mine banquet manager) he has always been very helpful.

Let us know the outcome.

So they said it nothing they can do, that is the bakers prices and they have nothing to do with what he charges.

Maybe you can get a bridesmaid to go wrap it I mean really! That is the one down side to letting them do your cake I suppose.

Hi! I met to finalize everything today, including my cake, but I did not meet with bakery? I just looked through their booked and picked.
$ 100.00 seems like alot...
I'm paying 100.00 extra for them to provide flowers and place them. Seems very high for them to place bling you already purchased??? I would try to negotiate that.

I felt like Westburys cake book didnt have too many options and i'm not 100% happy with my cake choice. Now im wondering if I shouldve met with bakery? Did they have large selection to look through? Good luck hun!

When do they usually call you to pick the cake and menu? Is it two months before?

Re: Westbury Manor Brides

You still should still call the baker and make an appt, to taste the cake and see other choices. If you have a florist it would be cheaper for them to add flowers to the cakes as well.

Thanks ladies for the help, am gonna try to get a the price lowered

update- i met with westbury's bakery-francescos bakery in hicksville- and they had tons of cakes to look through. i dealt with sandy and he was very nice. they gave me a tasting and i chose buttercream with strawberry and custard filling. i brought in a pic they will recreate (hopefully lol) and my cake will cost an extra $150 for sugar flowers and scroll work.
So i cant see why it would cost that much to wrap ribbon around ur cake?? I would meet with Sandy if u go. good luck!
