When I booked with WM they gave us a hotel room for free, did anyone ask that hotel about doing a hotel block? It just seems the easiest but I haven't asked yet or researched any. Do they not do them, or are they really expensive? I figured they probably work with them if they are giving that away but maybe it's not so simple. Thanks!

I got the voucher for Hyatt in Garden City, they do block rooms and at a discounted rate. If not all rooms are booked I believe you pay the regular rate. I'm booked with them but didn't block since I don't need 10 rooms (not a lot of OOT guests)if you don't block, the rate I paid was around $140-160 per night. I recommend booking early to get a better rate. It's 10-15 mins away from WM

I got the hotel block with the Hyatt also because of our free suite. I think if you book 10 rooms you get a free shuttle. Which is good for me because I know people will be drinking and some will be from OOT. They give WM brides and grooms tours there also. We went at the had food and dessert there.
If all 10 rooms are not booked I think 2 months before the wedding then the remaining rooms gets released.

Ok that sounds good... I don't want to bother with someplace where we have to pay for rooms even if people don't book them. I'm not sure if we'll need 10, but the option of having a shuttle is nice if there are 10.

I was also given this with WM but I did not get a voucher. My wedding is not until Aug 2013. Should I be calling them about a voucher?

They usually give you the hotel gift certificate the day you sign the contract. If you didn't get it then you should contact your BM.
