I loved Westbury Manor...the food, the ambience and the service in my opinion was great, but Im hearing that plates were being cleaned up from my guests' nose without the waiters asking them if they were finished or not! I mean I think thats so rude! I mean could it be that because most of the people were either by the bar or on the dance floor, the waiters kind of got 'used' to just taking the plates without asking?????
Im upset about this and I was wondering if this happened to anybody else...and if maybe I should complain.
Thanks!

Re: Westbury Manor Brides and other married ladies
I didn't hear anything like this, but the bottom line is..
if YOU are unhappy, then yes, I would call them and let them know. You'd be doing them a service as well. we all know catering halls are on a clock, but guests shouldn't be fighting with the waiters for a last bite of food.
and fyi, I didn't experience this, and I don't believe anyone at our table did either.
also, you need to remember, if the food is out for a 1/2 an hour, and people were dawdling...that's not cool either. like I said, everything about a wedding is timed, so at some point, they need to clear off the plates to start with the dessert service, etc.

You're absolutely right and I understand that. It was actually a couple of people who said that to me and they were from overseas...maybe they just aren't accustomed to American weddings. I am very happy with the way they treated us and I have asked others who did not experience this either...I dont know for some reason Im stressing these things too much...but thank you Jess for reassuring me that your table received good service.

I didn't experience this either - but like Jessica said, everything is timed. If they were from overseas things might be done differently where they are from. One thing I noticed when we went on our HM is that it took FOREVER to eat a meal because they left you alone for so long - after they brought the food to the table, they wouldn't come back and ask if you were finished or wanted the check, they would wait until YOU called them over. Things are definitely done differently here. I wouldn't worry!

I had one friend complain that they took his cake away while he was up dancing. That stinks but, I can't blame them. Sometimes people don't eat the cake or maybe the waiter thought they had left, I don't know. But if the person was sitting there eating dinner and they didn't ask, I'd be mad.

I didn't hear that from my guests, but they did complain that WM took the votive candle placecards that I made. They were hoping to keep them as a favor, but WM cleared them off the table as they were cleaning up for the next wedding. That's the one thing that upset me... and my guests. They felt very rushed at the end of the wedding.
