What hotel did you use for a block? I contacted Viana which seems to have great reviews and the price isn't too high, but around half of our guests will be from out of town, so I want to offer another option as well (preferably a little more affordable). The Hyatt Place in Garden City was recommended by WM, but I just wanted to see what else is out there and if anyone has had any experiences with either hotel. Thanks for your help! :)

I just chose the Hyatt Place that they recommended. I honestly didn't even look into reviews or anything. That's one thing I really didn't research on. Woopsy.

Thanks girls! I didn't realize the Hyatt Place and Hampton Inn were right next to each other..that seems like a good plan.

I would probably just go with the Hyatt place as the bride and groom have 1 comped night there. How do hotel blocks work? Do you have to pay? What if no one books a room?

We booked at Homewood Suites in Carle Place. It was close to WM, clean, and is a new hotel. I also liked that they will honor the hotel block rate even if you have just one person who ends up making a reservation. They also include breakfast, but don't have a shuttle.
