Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Mine are $50 or $55 each - but not because of the flowers I'm chosing, its because they are low. My contract says I can have any flower, any style for the same price. Flowers are the least of my concern though which is why I'm so clueless about them.

Has anyone been to Westbury Manor around the winter holidays? I am thinking maybe FH and I should go to dinner there sometime soon. I wonder how they decorate there.

Juliet-It is so beautiful during the holidays! We took our parents their for dinner around Christmas last year after we booked the place and I started rethinking my date I loved it so much!!
Wait a little while to go. I was just there Saturday for my engagement anniversary dinner and it is decorated for Thanksgiving, but wait until after Thanksgiving and you will see all the lights outside and the inside is stunning with the fireplace, etc....

Eroxgirl, where did you get your flowers from?I would like low centerpieces too and that seems like a reasonable price.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Flowers by Burton. Everyone pretty much gets the same contract: any flowers, any style. If you want to save some $$$ this is the place to go. I've seen their work at 2 weddings now, and I'll see a third before my own so I'm not worried - I know everything will be fresh and beautiful. With all the other things involved in a wedding and paying for it pretty much by ourselves, I decided flowers was the area to save $$ on.

Hey everyone, OK so I am freaking out a little. Wondering where in Westbury Manor besides the library I can take pictures? I have a short time betweeen church and reception and my cocktail hour is in library so that room is pretty much out. Anyone know of any other rooms that might be nice for pictures?

When you got your tour, did they take you all the way upstairs to the room with the antique lounge chair and heavy old drapes? They told us we could take pictures up there and have the bridal party's cocktail hour up there if the weather was bad. It is up on on the third floor.

I don't know if this helps but I am using Proline as our photograher. I asked them were we would take pictures if the weather is bad and they told me that Westbury Manor has a studio we can take them in. I am assuming it is one of those rooms but I didn't actually see it. They said not to worry.

Hey that would be something if they got a peacock inside. When do we start picking out our menus? Anyone have suggestions on what their chicken dish will be?

I am getting married at Westbury Manor on 08/27/04. I have cocktail hour outside and would love to have a steel drum band.Does that sound dumb? IS anyone else doing anything for their cocktail hour?

I had my cocktail hour outside at the WM but we didn't have any music -didn't have teh extra $$ and for an hour people really mingled, ate and drank.I think if you want to do it, go for it!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
I think I am going to have a trio or maybe just a piano player for the cocktail hour. Something low-key. My dad and brother are both musicians (Dad has played many weddings at WM. He suggested that FH and I look at it). Music will be very important to us.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
My DJ has some kinda something that will play during cocktail hour. I wanted to do a steel drum band or maybe a harpist or a something but I really needed to cut back somewhere. I've reached a point where I just don't want to spend anymore money (I can't believe that this point even exists for me, but it does)
