My wedding there is this Friday, so I will tell all you girls how it goes! I did stop by there today to drop off my favors, etc, and the grounds looked really nice!

wish me luck!

Does any one have a copy of the table layout that WM gives you? I am not going until July 7th ( thats when they give it to you) and I wanted to get a head start on it. Thanks.

Just thought I'd share, I went to a wedding yesterday (June 19) and everything was very nice! I enjoyed the food especially: cocktail hour-calamari, pasta, sausage, paella, cold seafood salad...entree I had the stuffed shrimp-very good and husband had the filet mignon, also very good! They served this ice cream dessert w/rasberry sauce - loved it. The day was perfect, the ceremony was outside and so was the cocktail hour, there was also morning hospitality before the ceremony which was very nice.

Thanks for sharing. I love to hear good reviews!!!

Morning Ladies-

WM added $575 to my contract for ceremony flowers - exactly what are they providing? Would it be cheaper for me to just use my florist to provide those flowers? Please give me your feedback!

When I booked it was $500, which includes flowers, use of facility, setup, etc. I don't believe there is a way out of that charge. You could have your florist provide flowers, but I highly doubt they will remove the charge. Let us know if they do...

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

Ladies,

As per the contract, what do your contracts look like. My contract just simply states the date, time, which room we will utilize, price pp, payment plan, any add ons, and on the bottom it simply states that we are responsible for the payments etc. But it doesnt specify that 'in an event of xyz such and such will happen'. When I asked our BM what will happen in an event that we need to either cancel or postpone the wedding, he simply answered that if they have enough time to sell the date that we would be able to 'settle' with the WM. Its not in writing and I am wondering if I should be concerned. Please advise. I greatly appreciate it!

The reason I am asking is because I have spoken to a few brides that are getting married elsewhere and they all have very detailed contracts.

My contract is similar to yours. No specifics on cancelling, etc.

Oh ok. I figured that this was a general contract. Its a very known and reputable place, maybe thats why they dont even bother with the specifications. Thanks, I feel better now

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

i had some things added to my contract including no bottles whatsoever (glasses of beer and alcohol ONLY), specific type of beer to be served & the ability to change my date without penalty within a certain amount of time.

another question--what 'throw ins' did you all receive??

I personally do not think it's a good idea to get into specifics of what we all rec'd as 'throw ins'. I think it could cause a lot of problems... We all saw what the changes did causing mass hysteria on here... I think that's a subject we should stay away from. JMHO No hard feelings...I love ya all, but things have changed since most of us booked with either old mgmt or new mgmt and some bargin better than others...etc.

I TOTALLY agree! This could really open up a can of worms.

I AGREE TOO Personally, I just don't want to start thinking to myself 'well so and so got this but I didn't, etc. etc.' Let's just all be psyched about what we did get - a beautiful and wonderful venue that all of our guests will love!!!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

contracts can be amended--that's what i was hoping to do.

i didn't mean to cause problems

and i guess i came onto this site after all the problems since i have no idea what you're referring to!

(BTW--i've spoken to 2 other WM brides and have gotten things they've recommended that I forgot. It's easy to do!)

Aww...we're all here to help each other out...I just asked the question about the contract as far cancellations, postponements etc...I agree that it is better not to get into the specifics of the 'add-ons' that we all received. Everyone got something thrown in...trust me.
