Kelly or Jennifer handles the menus... not the banquet managers.. although I had to deal with a BM, Susan because they double booked our appointment by accident. Big, big, big mistake... Stick with Kelly or Jennifer!
Did you guys know that we get taxed on the 18% service charge? Apparently, service charge and gratuities are different. It is legal for them to tax the service charge but not gratuity. s u c k s...![]()
OMG I so AGREE DO NOT DEAL WITH SUSAN WHEN DOING YOUR MENU- the same thing happened to me- Kelly scheduled an appt when she was on vacation and I had to see Susan- BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!

The way I look at it is that in reality we are tipping the whole friggin WM...
So at the end of the day, the maitre d' and the bridal attendant are the only ones get tipped separately (via cash or check or whatever) correct?
Yup - the MD tip is about $3 PP and the BA is somewhere b/t $100 - $150 - for me, another $600 in tips! I hope it is well earned!
thats the 'suggested' tip PP... but you tip based on IF its well earned... not just for the sake of it. i dont know, i think people forget what a 'Tip' is and what it should be based on (not YOU... i mean the halls that 'suggest' it)

OMG I so AGREE DO NOT DEAL WITH SUSAN WHEN DOING YOUR MENU- the same thing happened to me- Kelly scheduled an appt when she was on vacation and I had to see Susan- BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!
Why was it a big mistake???
First off she is RUDE- EXTREMEMLY RUDE, when doing the menu she was very caddy and basically could CARE LESS!!! as she kept reminding me that she does NOT DO THIS- then why see me? I would have rescheduled????????
ahhh then the best part is when I asked her a couple of questions regarding the new things from this board- but KEY thing - I NEVER MENTIONED THE INTERNET OR LIW OR THE BOARDS- and her remark was with this nasty look and smirk face- WELL- THANKGOD FOR THE INTERNET HUH! I was like are you kidding me? you have new things and you are not mentioning them and then when I DO you are pissed about it?????????? ( new things like the chair covers, champagne station, frozen drinks bar, wine on table for free-, new linens,) I am just so thankful that is the LAST time I ever had to deal with her and in the future if I do do business there I will make sure I DO NOT get her and if I do I will reschedule myself!!!
ugh- I can still see her mad, rude, smirky face and piercing eyes looking at you like come on, hurry up- and she doesnt help with suggestions either!!!!! she is just good for Jerry as a BM- to sign deals b/c she is a shark- but she has 0 personality!!!!!
My first encounter with her was in the very beginning when my dad and I came in to drop off the first payment way early too- she handled it and again she was rude and said you dont have to come in ya know- you can just mail it to us- we were stunned- NO THANK YOU- FOR BRINGING YOU 4000 IN CASH- just a mail it next time! so I shrugged it off as maybe shes having a bad day- until my menu appt.- nope she is a mean person all the time!!!
these were my 2 experiences with the woman!

Hi-Does anyone have opinions/past experience on whether or not the Bridal Attendant is needed? I am not having my ceremony there, just the reception. If I have to tip her $100-150, I am just trying to figure out what that would be for?? Isn't that what my MOH & BM are for? TIA

Im glad she reads them because she really needs to know how to treat people- and whats to lie about????????????? and funny how 'she' said not to believe what is said---- Ha!; my parents, DH AND DOC were there when we met to do our menu- to also witness how she is- my DH said what a b*tch- my DOC shook her head and my parents were pissed to say the least! We were ALL glad that that was the last to deal with her. I have nothing to make up! and again not only was it once but TWICE- she was rude to me AND my dad!!!!! so believe what you want, and I hope your experience is an enjoyable one!

you dont 'have to' tip them $100-$150.. thats the 'suggested' amount. you tip them what you can afford, and what you think they should get.
Yes, i do think its worth it though... my bridal attendant (though im drawing a omplete blank on her name right now) was Amazing! she was on top of everything, and took care of us the whole night.

I agree, I had Ines and she was wonderful, I tipped her 100, she was on top of everything- and even though I had 2 MOH, and a DOC, she was like my shadow, it was weird at first but trust me it is WELL worth it!!!

while i had absolutely No problems with WM at all--- they really did do an amazing job on my day-- i have to say- Yes, we know 'vendors' read the boards... its a public board, and if i were a vendor, i would probably do the same thing. BUTTTTTTT they should be reading it to get corrective criticism AND feedback on the little things that they can work on to improve their services for future clients, NOT to bully or intimidate people into not being honest about any negative experiences they may have had. i find that VERY unprofessional in so many ways.

Thats weird, all the experiences I have had with Susan were really great. I haven't had to plan any menu things yet, so you never know what's to come, but she was the one who helped me out when I changed my date and she was extremely accomodating and helpful.

I loved my bridal attendant. In fact, I liked her a whole lot more than I did my Maitre'd, who had a bit of an attitude. My bridal attendant stood by my side, brought me food, drinks, packed up all my things at the end of the day, brought me to see whatever I wanted to see that day. She was invaluable and beyond worthy of whatever I tipped her (I'm sorry I just don't remember anymore).

I'm confused
this 18% service charge is in ADDITION to what we already agreed to when we booked? My contract says the pp charge before tax and gratuity and then after tax and gratiuity...this 18% is added onto that price???Sorry if it sounds stupid

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Yes.Say your price per person is $100 on the contract.
Tack on 18% for 'service charge' (not to be mistakened with gratuity) that'll make your per person charge $118.
And then, you get taxed 8.625% on that $118, which is about $10.18.
So, that brings your grand total per person charge to $128.18.
