Westbury Manor-cocktail hour

Hey Westbury Manor ladies,

I'm having my reception in the Manor Room and the cocktail hour will be outside if the weather is nice. If we decide to have the cocktail hour inside, we have the Library and Conservatory. One of my friends who just got married there told me that she had the Garden Room for her inside cocktail hour (it was a sunday night--maybe no one else booked??). She said if I'm in the Library/Conservatory, we will be running into the other wedding party.

Please tell me where your inside cocktail hour will be and if I need to call WM and try to make some changes. I'm getting kinda nervous...

Also, what 'freebies' did you get thrown into your contract? I'd like to see if we can get some other things included in the price if other people are getting them.

Re: Westbury Manor-cocktail hour

Hi we had all 3 rooms for our cocktail hour- the Garden Room, the Library and the Conservatory Room. IMO the Library and the Conservatory room were too small for the extras we had ( Seafood boat and Martini Bar) and I never saw the other bride. Last month I was at WM and the cocktail hour was outside ALONG with the wedding. You def will see eachother and your guest will be confused. We were looking at the wrong table for our place cards b/c they had both together. the outdoor cocktail hour is BEAUTIFUL though. I wish I had the weather for it but I would try to get the garden room- no one will be using the conservatory room if you book the library and garden so you wont have to worry.

Re: Westbury Manor-cocktail hour

We had our cocktail hour outside and it was beautiful! But if it rained our contract had the library and garden room. I only saw guests from the other wedding as we were starting to go in for the reception because those guests were walking out for their cocktail hour. Although I agree about the placecards. Ours started by the doors for outside and then moved to outside the Manor Room before the reception. The other wedding's placecards were then by the door outside as their guests went out so some of my guests starting looking there on their way in to get their cards. I said something to a few of them and then the bridal attendent realized and stood there. Call and see what rooms you have. I know there was an anniversary party in the conservatory so we would not have had that room if it rained.

Re: Westbury Manor-cocktail hour

I am having the cocktail hour in the Executive Room (which is upstairs...) and our reception is in the Garden Room. The Executive Room is fairly small - so if you are having alot of guests, you may want to remain downstairs.

Re: Westbury Manor-cocktail hour

Thanks everyone-

This is what I'm so confused about--I thought the Garden Room was for an actual wedding (such as the Manor Room is for me). Is it a cocktail hour room????

I want to call first thing tomorrow morning and straighten this all out! I just hope I didn't get screwed. Of course I want my cocktail hour outside, but if it rains, I want a good backup plan.

The times are staggered so if you had your cocktail hour inside in the Garden Room say from 6:30-7:30 the actual wedding that is in the Garden Room would be having there cocktail hour someplace else - most likely upstairs and it would start probably more towards 7 - 7:30. So when everyone leaves your cocktail hour and goes into the Manor Room they clean and set up the Garden Room for the wedding. I know they have to do this really, really quick. My coordinator told me they had to do the same thing with my room. There was a day wedding in there. But they have it down to a science.

Re: Westbury Manor-cocktail hour

Hi
My wedding is on a Friday night with Cocktail hour starting
at 8:30 in the Library/Conservatory and outside if it's nice. Our
reception is in the Garden Room. We wanted an earlier cocktail hour but were told no because an earlier wedding would be
using the Garden room for there cocktail hour. So I guess if you have the Manor Room for your reception you get the garden room for your cocktail hour. Hope that helps.

Re: Westbury Manor-cocktail hour

They will offer the library, conservatory and the garden room for parties over 250. That's what I was told. My reception was in the manor room and we used the garden room and the library for our cocktail hour. We had 196 guests.

Re: Westbury Manor-cocktail hour

I called Westbury Manor.

You get the Garden Room as your cocktail hour with a night wedding only.

It serves as a reception room during the day, so that's why I have the library/conservatory
