Westbury Manor FOOD!

Hi!
I heard that the WB has amazing food. My BM said there is no food tasting but any past brides have any suggestions for the food to choose for the cocktail hour?! There's such a big selections, perhaps there are some dishes that are amazing that you would like to recommend :)

Thanks!

My BM told us that we could have a food tasting in the restaurant and its usually done 3 months before the actual wedding date.

I tasted the food at the showcases and no complaints here.

I did the food tasting in the restaurant a few days after I signed my contract. But I had my BM write on the contract that I could cancel pending the food tasting. We only got to try a few things, but they were all good.

For the appetizer, we tried the Frutti Di Mare salad which was good (the squingilli was fresh and not rubbery). This is included in the CH food display no matter what.

From the CH hot station choices, they brought us Eggplant Rollatini, which was delicious! We tried it again at the mixer in April and it was still good, but it's always going to taste better in the restaurant because it's heated and brought straight to you instead of sitting in the sterno tray. We are definitely choosing this dish as one of our hot CH stations.

For the entree samples, they let us try the Filet Mignon (which was overcooked but still tender--but we're going to have our preferred cooking temps noted for the chef on the day of) with Amaretto sauce. I didn't like the sauce, but my mom and FH did. It can be served on the side so your guests can add it if they like it. We also tried the Sea Bass which was really good, and the Chicken Olivata which was simple but really delicious.

At the mixer, they had more CH stations so we got to sample the Cold Display of cheeses and fruit, and taste the Calamari (good), Penne a la Vodka (really good), Oriental Wok (I wasn't into it, but FH liked it), and Fajita Station. I had been psyched about the Fajita Station, but was disappointed that you don't really build your own fajita. They are pre-rolled. So, you can add toppings to your plate, then unroll the wrap and put everything together. I understand why they do it this way (to avoid bottlenecks in the line), but decided to skip it.

I've been having a hard time deciding which stations to go with besides the Eggplant. We're in the Hill Room, so we only get 6 stations total and I want to choose wisely. Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm going to the showcase tonight, so I'm hoping to try some more CH food and/or upgrades.

They had a lot of food selections but for our stations we did the Spanish, Northern Italian, Japanese and one more that I can no longer remember LOL... We didn't attend our cocktail hour but based from what I heard from our guests it was so much they assumed it was dinner already. You wont be disappointed.

Do they offer a mashed potato bar? That was a big hit at our CH.

They do! It's an upgrade--I asked for it when we signed our contract.

We did our tasting and O M G!! BEST FOOD I have ever had. Everything came out hot and delicious. All of the things we tried were cooked to perfection and we fell in love with WM even more so.

We did our tasting about 2 weeks after signing the contract. Everything was excellent. FH doesn't eat seafood and he even was willing to try & enjoyed it!
