Westbury Manor vs Jericho Terrace

So I went to see JT today, and I actually really liked it. I spoke with Micheal he added a lot of things; a chocolate fountain, Martini bar, and an ice sculpture.
The Theme of my wedding in a Pink vintage chic, I like Westbury Manor for their historic decor. But they didnt throw any thing in. I will be meeting with them again, so hopefully I can get some things added.
What should I do?????????

Lol I don't remember the room. But it was the smallest room for 100-150 guest. He gave us 87 for June evening. The second time you met with Lorena is when she tried to help you out with add on and etc????

I've only been to smaller events at WM, but my sister's wedding was at JT and it was AWESOME. the CH had such a spread and the dinner was really good. service was awesome and she loved their wedding planner (dazzling affairs) so much that she hired her for her DOC and everything was so smooth.

as for the decor etc, it definitely depends on what kind of feel you are going for.

Re: Westbury Manor vs Jericho Terrace

I went to both and these were my last two venues to choose from. Here is what I weighed out:

JT: LOVEDDDDDDDDDDDDD the rooms, the uplighting effects, the service and the look of the whole place. We dealt w/ Anthony and he was a great guy to work with. We didn't even negotiate much, high guarantees, but I felt it was worth it. He didn't offer to throw in anything and we didn't ask. We wanted to see if we could afford this but and decided we could. So we were going to go back for a tasting and negotiate.

In the mean time we went to Westbury Manor:

WM: We both loved the scenary and the size of WM. I liked that they can't do 3 weddings at one time. I also love the fact that Scotto Brothers have at least 3 successful busineses, this means a lot to me. Quality! We saw both rooms, and ended up liking the Garden room.

We met with Ian, told him we wanted a November wedding. We negoitated our butts off and got an amazing deal! He offered us two freebies: An extra pasta course and the chocolate fountatins. We have been there over 5 times, and each time we are greeted by our first names, and genuine smiles. I really felt that we chose what we could afford, and what mattered to us.

My suggestion: Is go back to both. Negotiate the best you can and get the best deal you can. Go to the other and do the same. Weigh it out, and see what you envision for your wedding. I hope this helps.

In the end these were our two finalists...we chose WM.

Even though I liked JT, WM just had more character..to be honest there was plenty of food. Our guests could not believe it, and weren't hungry after the CH and Dinner to even eat dessert lol. Just work with them, they will def add some stuff for you!

Good Luck

Ive been to neither place but I thought you wanted an outdoor ceremony? If im not mistaken JT doesnt have outdoor space.

I am biased because I am a JT bride! I am booked in the small room you are talking about. What I love about the place is the amount of stuff they give you for your money and the service is great. Whenever I have a question there is always someone to help me.

I chose JT due to the decor (we wanted modern and lighting), WM has a very historic look and if that is what you are going for then it is right for you. Especially if you want the outdoor ceremony, although JT Garden room does give the feel of outside...your not. That was not a factor in our choice since July is HOLY HOT and we wanted to be in A/C.

If you love both and it comes down to price...negotiate negotiate negotiate and get it in writting...then go home and take a look over both and decide. We negotiated our price even though we were already getting a deal. HTH and Good luck!

This. JT has no outdoor space, aside from a small garden in the front for photos. But, that didn't bother me at all. I loved JT and I'd have my wedding there again in a heartbeat. We got the most bang for our buck there and they truly made the wedding prep a breeze. If you're looking for more info, check out my review! Good luck and happy planning!

I was debating between the same two venues...both places are beautiful and I heard great things..in wm the coctail hour will be outside...would you want a outdoor coctail hour or jt does only in doors?

I have never been to JT but we had our wedding at WM it was beyond amazing. There was so much food and the people there were all amazing.

We were torn between these two, put them against each other and got both prices down significantly and got things thrown in. If they think you got it to spend they dont work with you as much, IMO.

We chose Jericho Terrace bc you really get more for your money, food, uplighting, etc... Oak room has DJ booth pushed back so theres more room for dancing. Also they tell you what each room can fit but we thought 120 (the number we ended up going up to-mths later) would fit more comfortably in Jericho Terrace.

They are both beautiful. I had my sweet 16 at WM and am having my wedding at JT. WM is nice because of the cocktail hour outside but in my opinion the food is better at JT. If I was having a smaller size wedding I would definetly consider WM but for a larger size I would go with JT.

When you go back to WM, mention those things that JT is adding in. Maybe WM will try to match it. When I checked out WM, I got the impression that I could negotiate with them.

Re: Westbury Manor vs Jericho Terrace

We were also torn between the 2. we went with JT because we liked the actual room for the RH better (we are in the Dome Room). We also liked how we had more options as far as food, etc. We got more for our money there.

As far as them throwing stuff in, like someone said, the ice sculpture, martini bar and choc fountain is something they 'throw in' for everyone I think. I think they make it seem like they're doing something out of the ordinary for you. Don't be afraid to negotiate more for things that you actually want. For example, I didn't really want an ice sculpture, so they were able to work with us to give us other things and to lower the price per head and or minimum.

The customer service at JT has been amazing so far. Mike, our BM has been there for every stupid question I have had, and has gone above and beyond in my opinion. We went in for a tasting and had a 5 course meal that was so delicious. I know our wedding will be amazing there.

Think about what's more important to you... like I said, we went with JT for the room and we felt we got more for our money there. Either way, both places are beautiful and your wedding will be great no matter what :)
