what a long couple of months, need to vent

so i really havent been on here much, but i want to say i am glad to be back. my mother has been very sick. first she had some heart problems where she had to be shocked into a normal rhythm, then she was diagnosed with breast cancer. this was the second time. she first had it when i was 14 and i honestly dont remember much other than being scared out of my mind. she did great back then. now....4 days after the breast cancer diagnosis, she had appendicitis and it got really complicated and was in the hospital for 19 days. 2 weeks later she had to have a bilateral mastectomy. she is doing awesome and she is now home but we have had the worst couple of months. she is going through a lot emotionally and i am having a hard time helping her bc she is my rock and she is going through so much right now. everyday i think how can i plan a wedding with all that she is going through? i want to relax and enjoy this special time and i am so happy that she is doing great and will be fine but am having a hard time feeling ok when she is so down. ugh just had to get that off my chest, i hope each of you remember how precious life is and cherish every moment we all have with the people that mean so much to us.

I'm sorry you're mother has been going through this but I'm happy to hear she is doing well. I'm sure wedding planning is the kind of excitement she needs to get her mind off things.

Hope you have a better July!

I hear you...I am my grandpa's care taker for the last 2 years...I'm in the process of closing on my house, selling his house so I can take care of him FT vs commuting....I was hoping to have him moved in by the end of Aug. PS July 4th I admitted him into the hospital, July 5th they performed emergency surgery (he's 83 & has heart, kidney, lung & vascular disease). Mind you he is NOT a candidate for anesthesia, but they said he would die if they didn't do the surgery, but he could die because of the surgery......Long story short, Today he came off the respirator & is breathing on his own....but we're far from being out the woods....So, my heart goes out to you...
