senor panasonic 27' decided to go to tv heaven. thank goodness for 5 year warrenties from pc richards, but we'll be without his presence for about 2 weeks!!!! so, guess it is time to break down and buy a new one...then one will go in the bedroom which neither one of us really wanted but both of us kind of also thought it wasn't a TERRIBLE THING but oh well. i was without anything for 4 hours so far today because even our music is hooked up through the tv, so nothing...it was so weird without a voice around!

TVs are mad cheap nowadays. You can get a basic 27' for around $200 buks if you shop around.
You can upgrade to 30' Widescreen or 32' for around 600-700.

i know ...i've been on the best buy site and things are looking pretty tempting. but we also don't have a lot of room, so we'll probably go for something in the 27' range again b/c it is serving our basic needs right now. do you have suggestions for brands?

We have a Panasonic and a RCA, both work great for us.
Sorry your TV went to TV heaven!! Can you play music on your computer? Pop in a CD

We had a 32' JVC when we were in our apt. It was wonderful! They have all those really nice Sony flat screens now in 27' that I hear are really very clear.

Sorry to hear Tv's have come down a LOT in price. I say you can't go wrong with a Sony.
