What a Year it has been

What a Year it has been

I thought I would post since I have received so much from so many of you ladies I thought I would share where I am since it might help others---
DH and I spent all of 2003 TTC but weren't getting anywhere---
so I went back to my OB/GYN and she started some preliminary tests(bloodwork, sonogram, etc)
I have a very regular cycle--always have so as each month passed we really could'nt figure out what was going on---
so we knew the next step was for DH to get tested and he was willing to but I wasn't going to push him to make the call---

Well lo and behold- Christmas was approaching so I was really hoping for a great present but AF had her way--and I finally got to the point where I had enough--- I never understood when I have read other women say that---I mean seriously how could you give up ? but there I was telling DH that I couldn't take this every month any more--

Well he decided to call the dr and get tested --so on NYE we didnt get great news--ends up that DH might be part of the reason as to why we are not getting pregnant---

So now I have an appointment with an RE and no that there will be some challenges ahead of us but i do feel a bit better knowing that this might be the reason why it hasn't worked yet--

So for all those out there---trust your instincts-- I went to the dr early(ie it wasnt a full year) but for some reason i knew that something wasnt right and thankfully I really like my dr and she has been great the past few months!!!

So it looks like right now that we might not be able to conceive naturally but I am completely fine with that-- even fine with the possibilities of multiples--as my sister in laws says (she has twin girls from IUI) 2 is better than NONE!!! and I agree

So here's to a better 2004 and tons of baby dust to those that are trying!!! We will all get what want!!!! I firmly believe that God has a plan for me and that he will guide us thru the journey ahead of us

Thanks for listening--the past few days have been really tough and today is the first day that I have come to terms with the whole situation.

Re: What a Year it has been

Thanks everyone--it is amazing the support we all receive on here

I do feel very positive about all that we will encounter and ironically enough last night when I told my SIL (went thru tons to conceive my adorable twin nieces) she immediately said 'Great' and I was like Huh? and she said it was a good thing that they found a 'problem/concern' because the quicker they can 'fix' it-- She did make me think differently so it helped!!!!!

Baby dust to all--- and God knows all the LIW are pretty fertile!!!!!

Re: What a Year it has been

Laura,

Just wanted to say thank you for sharing your words and your story.

I'm in much the same situation as you and I was very depressed over the holidays as AF showed up on Christmas Eve/Day. After over a year of TTC I'm feeling myself get worn down.

I too saw my OBGYN for my annual and it was after 5 months of TTC and she took action right away. Then we started seeing a specialist in November. It just helped to know we were actually trying to do something about it and find out what could be wrong. Luckily DH is just fine.

Now it's just trying to find out what's wrong with me.

I share your frustrations and after reading your post I now also share your optimism. Have faith, have hope and keep trying. That is all we can do.

I wish you much luck and joy and hope you receive a blessing in 2004.

Keep the faith ladies!!! And thanks for your stories Stef and Laura. I know a lot of us have not started trying yet, but we may encounter some of your experiences. I admire your strength during this difficult and trying time and I wish you all the luck in TTC!!!
