What about songs for the first dance?

I have a long list, but can't choose. We have a few songs together, but nothing appropriate for a first dance! What are you girls using?

We're using 'Could not ask for more' by Edwin McCain....

We are using I Cross my Heart, it's a George Strait song... although we might change it to The Gift, as long as I can convince FH...

We used I finally found someone by barbara streisand and bryan adams...choose something that doesnt just describe love but that fits your relationship as well. Thats what matters most.

We are using a song which I believe is titled, 'Make you feel my love'. It was written by Bob Dylan and was recorded again a few years ago by Garth Brooks for the movie Hope Floats. However, we will likely use the Billy Joel version, which IMO, is just beautiful.

By your side is another one on my list- and so is to make you feel my love (the Billy Joel Version).
There are so many nice songs- but a lot have one line in them I don't like. I have to decide if that one line matters or not. I like Til there was you, (the beatles)

I also want a song that we are likely to hear on the radio a lot, or at other weddings- stuff like that- even 20 years from now.
You know-(I am about to say something pathetic) something we can dance at at our grandkids wedding.

L-O-V-E because it was uptempo and a classic. I didnt want the song we chose to be dated in a few years so anything written after 1970 was pretty much out.

The Way You Look Tonight by Sinatra. This has actually been our song since we started dating. We were at a diner one night and he put it on the little jukebox on the table and told me this was his song to me.

So when it came time to choose our first dance it was a very easy choice to make.

We are using 'I Love The Way You Love Me' John Michael Montgomery. It fits our relationship perfectly. It is a country song

Our first dance will be 'Heaven', but not the one by Bryan Adams. Its the one by DJ Sammy(not the fats one, the one with just her singing & a piano). Its very slow paced & romantic. Plus since I heard I felt like if I had the voice I'd want to sing that to Gavin just like that at our wedding.

I THINK we are using 'Someone Like You'-Van Morrison.
Others we like are:
Could I Have This Dance-Anne Murray
When You Say Nothing At All - Ronan Keating

You Are My Everything by Mary J. Blige. This song has a lot of meaning to us and we knew it was exactly what we wanted to dance to on our first dance as Mr and Mrs.
