What about songs for the first dance?

I have a long list, but can't choose. We have a few songs together, but nothing appropriate for a first dance! What are you girls using?

We used At Last, and it fit us perfectly.

We are using 'All my Life'

Stef just wondering...nothing after 1970? Were you even born then?? You crack me up Is 'LOVE' by Natalie Cole the song you mean? I love that song and will probably use it for dinner backround, I dont mind using something from my generation for the first dance though I guess.

We are also using 'At Last'. We wanted to pick a song that is timeless.

I used 'Valentine' by Martina McBride....really a beautiful song.

We used 'I've Got My Love to Keep me Warm' because it was a 1/31 wedding & we didn't want something to gushy.

We used 'Could Not Ask for More' by Edwin McCain. Since it was never really a widly popular song - I never got sick of it. And a lot of people commented on how nice it was and it was not a trite song. But most importantly use a song that you and your FI like.

Tara - nope, I wasnt alive in 1970. That was sort of the idea. Any song from the 80s, 90s or recently was too current for my taste. I wanted a song that would still be in vogue 50 years from now. I figure if its been around this long (close to 50 years now), what are the chances of it going out of style? (Of course we had lots of current songs played at the reception)

The version we used was by Nat King Cole(1964). I have never heard Natalie Coles version but I cant really stand her...she seems to exploit her fathers fame which annoys me. JMO.

This is kind of cheesy, but I'm thinking about using 'The Spy Who Loved Me' by Carly Simon. The first movie that FH and I saw together was 'Spy Games' and he proposed to me at the Spy Museum. His dream is to be a secret agent

We are using Breathe by Faith Hill because it has been our song from day one.....and I'll Always Love You by Taylor Dayne for the second one.
