What about the Holidays are you looking forward to???

Though I would ask an upbeat, happy question to even out my serious post from earlier :)

I am one of those dorks who gets excited when they see chirstmas stuff in the stores or hears music on the radio!! I absolutely love the holidays and fall into a slight depression when they are over (sort of joking about that!!)

I'll start...

I LOVE giving presents. No joke. I am at my happiest when I take time to buy something for someone I care about and making them happy.

One more thing...the food. Turkey, cookies, fattening stuff nonstop from late Nov through late December...gotta love it

ETA: we tagged our christmas tree last week! we'll go cut it closer to christmas

snow and christmas cookies!!! i also like that usually the atmosphere at work gets more relaxed and people seem happier.

Spending time with my family - we don't live near each other, so it's one of the few times a year we really get to hang out

Finding the perfect gift for someone

The colder weather, and especially snow

Pumpkin pie

That general feeling of happiness and closeness and brother/sisterhood that is everywhere, even in strangers - I can't explain it, but it's like all our political, religious and personality differences seem much less important around the holidays

Definitely the food!!! It's not every day that everyone in the family makes their best dish all at once!!

I also agree with giving presents! I would much rather watch someone open somethig I got for them than open myown!

And the decorations! I love to drive around neighborhoods and look at the houses all lit up! I just got a job right downthe block from MAcy's on 34th stret so I can't wait for the stores to really be decorated!!

I also Love giving, I love thinking of something someone will love or giving something they really want, I love decorating the house and I love all the pre christmas parties.

well, it will be my first christmas as married woman and I'm looking forward to decorate my house and spent it with my husband. And new years, we are spending in my country with my family I haven't seen in 8 years!!!!!!!!!!

Its my first X-mas being engaged, so it should be interesting.....well, actually, not really, nothign will be changed...

But my favorites:

*The great food
*The decorating--love nothing more than pretty X-mas decorations and making the house look just perfect
*Spending time w/ family and friends
*Love finding perfect gifts for the perfect person
*Love opening them up too
*Love the wine, the comfort of being w/ family
*Love looking at the pretty X-mas tree at night in the dark all lit up
*Love hearing the Xmas music in homes and in stores, puts me in such a great mood

1. WHite lights on trees and stuff surrounded by snow

2. Baking

3. Decorating

4. Getting holiday cards

5. Watching my kids open their presents full of excitement. It is very fufilling

Getting a Christmas tree and decorating our place with Holiday stuff. Finally get to break out the Christmas cookie Yankee tarts I've been waiting to use. I know I am so corny.
The feeling of being with family and friends around the holidays, it's awesome. Most of all the annual X-mas eve party my parents throw!

a week off from work! I know that seems bad, but I just don't 'love' Christmas. I like Thanksgiving, but Christmas puts too much pressure on everyone to get gifts, everyone goes crazy shopping, is in a bad mood out in the stores, etc. I DO NOT want to offend anyone, this is just how I feel. I do like seeing my nieces and nephews all excited about Santa coming, though. That's always fun.

I love the holidays bc that's when I get to spend time with family. I live in Chicago, so I love going home. I actually prefer Thanksgiving over Christmas, besides the food is so much better. I can do without the commercial aspect of Christmas. I just think that sometimes people get so caught up in giving and receiving the 'perfect' gift and forget about the true meaning.

I get into such a great mood around the holidays! I always get this sense of peace around the holidays that just makes me all warm inside. I know, sounds weird, but just knowing what the holidays represent makes me really really happy at this time of year!!

And of course I love all the good and different foods that only come around once a year!!
